TITLE:Director of Food ServicesTERMS:205 days of work per school year from July 1 to June 30Length of contract and salary negotiableOVERVIEWLudlow Public Schools (LPS) is seeking an experienced dynamic leader to fill our Food Service Director position. We seek someone with the knowledge skills and temperament to step in and fully lead the program. We feel confident that our food service program is in good shape organizationally and financially. As a district we also seek to be moving continually forward. We want our new Director to use his or her knowledge and experience to fully analyze our existing practices to continue practices that are highly effective and also to lead the evolution of the program forward. The Food Service Director is a leadership role. The position reports to and coordinates program needs with the School Business Manager. The Business Manager and Superintendent depend on the Food Service Director to know everything necessary to run the food service program in a way that serves our students and families well meets all regulatory requirements and is financially Director is responsible for the overall daytoday operation of the food service program. He/she plans organizes develops and directs the activities of the school cafeterias and other food service for the district; employs trains and supervises school food service personnel; establishes work standards; oversees the collection of cafeteria monies and ensures that monies are correctly recorded in the districts financial records and deposited in the bank; safeguards the fiscal solvency of the program by utilizing costcontainment measures and revenue generating activities; administers the National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs; provides and maintains effective food and nutrition service to all schools in the District; and performs other related duties as assigned. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: and supervises the preparation and serving of menus at all schools including lunch and breakfast to the administration the staff and the public as appropriate federal and state standards and guidelines regarding the school food service and the school food the receipt and distribution of government donated requested plans events to be served in the school the overall safety and sanitation of all food service input from student groups regarding preferred foods and meals and makes every effort to incorporate suggestions into the food service program in a manner consistent with good nutritional food supplies and equipment and develops procedures for proper receiving storage and informed on new nutritional trends or concepts and on new developments in equipment that will improve and upgrade the school nutrition the cost of producing the school lunch and recommends the prices for the lunch program in accordance with state and federal regulations and local district responsibility for preparing all reports regarding food services that are required by local state or federal electronic records within necessary databases and other electronic files related to the food service an annual cafeteria budget to meet the needs of each school the receipt and handling of all monies that come into the food service program including cash checks and payments through electronic payment cafeteria cash income statements each cooperatively with the School Business Manager and district maintenance team to maintain all food service electronic financial records related to the food service program including working with the districts financial database (Munis) electronic payment portals and all necessary spreadsheets and other electronic the School Business Manager and Superintendent of the staffing needs for the food service program necessary to provide high quality service in a way that is financially and manages all food service program staff including recommending dismissal when hiring for all food service work performance standards work schedules and basic job descriptions for food service positions. as first level of administration in grievance procedures originating with employees in the food service such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may from time to time be assigned by the Director of : $70000$80000 Depending on ExperiencePAPER APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED
