The Galt House Hotel is currently hiring for 2nd shift Facilities Maintenance Technicians with strong customer service skills and interested in growth and development.
This person will be responsible for maintaining the general condition of the property with regards to all aspects of basic electrical carpentry plumbing mechanical and painting work. You will complete maintenance request work orders from all departments on a timely basis and perform preventive maintenance for all building equipment and rooms.
Requirements for a Facilities Maintenance Technician:
- Performs general maintenance skills necessary for diagnosing and repairing buildings and equipment on property.
- Change light bulbs switch plate covers replacing filters and switching out appliances in guest rooms.
- Performs preventative maintenance as assigned.
- Troubleshoots maintenance calls and performs basic repairs or reaches out for assistance when issues are beyond scope of ones capabilities.
- Reports any unusual occurrence and or damage that may have taken place that is observed while on duty.
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
- Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.
- Anticipate guests needs respond promptly and acknowledge all guests however busy and whatever time of day.
- Resolve guest complaints ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
- Receive daily work assignments from Chief Engineer/Supervisor and review priorities and special projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications for a Facilities Maintenance Technician:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment
- Mechanically inclined and have the ability to be trained.
- Working knowledge of all electrical supplies and equipment.
- Knowledge of proper chemical handling and disposal.
- Working knowledge of:
- health codes
- electrical codes
- national/local fire codes
- local mechanical codes
- blue prints and wiring schematics
- power and hand tools meters etc. as it relates to the technical trades
- Provide legible communication and directions.
- Compute math calculations.
- Satisfactorily communicate with guests management and coworkers to their understanding.
- Interpret manufacturers literature for installation preparation use and upkeep of various materials and products used throughout the property.
- Be well organized and follow instructions.
- Work cohesively with coworkers as part of a team.
