JOB PURPOSE: The Teacher at the Eagle Lake Childrens Center is primarily responsible for creating an inclusive learning environment that elevates the dignity of every child in care through rigorous relevant instructional experiences. The teacher will collaborate with the Education Coordinator to create customize and execute studentcentered lesson plans.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSBILITIES:
Create and maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes joyful learning.
Know the individual needs and preferences of each student and make instructional decisions accordingly.
Assess and monitor learning adjusting instruction as warranted.
Attend and monitor educational field trips.
Collaborate with other faculty members in the pursuit of constant improvement.
Coordinate the work of support personnel (instructional aide).
Manage instructional materials and resources.
Meet departmental and program deadlines to ensure contractual compliance with reporting requirements.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Must be at least 21 years old.
Proficiency in Spanish/English (written and spoken language skills).
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office products and Google tools.
Successfully pass a TB test annually.
Successfully pass a drug screen.
Be physically mentally and emotionally capable of performing assigned tasks and have the skills necessary to perform assigned task.
Pass a criminal history screen including state federal and local child protection agency registries.
Ability to work independently and exercise a high level of confidentiality.
Affidavit for Applicants for Employment with a Licensed Operation or Registered Childrens Home.
EDUCATION:
Bachelors Degree with a valid Teaching License (can be from any state) or Bachelors Degree and TESOL Certification.
At least one year of experience working with children in an educational setting.
WORK LOCATION:
Eagle Lake Childrens Center inperson.
OTHER: Must be available and willing to travel in case of an emergency evacuation and as the business need dictates. Must be available and willing to work holidays as required to meet business needs.
