Charles R. Drew University is located in the WattsWillowbrook area of south Los Angeles and was founded in 1966 in the wake of the Watts uprising. CDU was founded to address inadequate medical care in the region and to provide equitable medical education opportunities for underrepresented students.
CDU is strongly invested in the local and regional community. The university leads multiple partnerships and programs to provide equitable healthcare resources in a variety of South Los Angeles neighborhoods.
Job Summary:
The Director of Recruitment and Partnerships is responsible for leading strategic recruitment initiatives developing implementing and sustaining strategic partnerships to drive enrollment growth with community colleges universities and hospitals/healthcare scholars to enhance transfer and program pathways to Charles R. Drew University (CDU). This role focuses on pipeline development for students in Public Health Psychology Radiotechnology and Biomedical Sciences ensuring a seamless transition to CDU through articulation agreements MOUs outreach programs and engagement initiatives. The Director will represent CDU at transfer fairs outreach presentations and events and established conferences to increase awareness prospective student inquiries and ultimately enrollment among community college and university students. The director ensures that CDU attracts engages and enrolls a diverse and qualified student body aligned with the universitys mission.
The director will interface with admissions financial aid and the office of the registrar units to assure the smooth and efficient management of students initial interest from inquiry to a started application. The director will work with the Vice Provost for Enrollment Management on all issues related to the Universitys relationship with our community colleges universities and healthcare MOU partners.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop update and implement a comprehensive recruitment plan that aligns with CDUs enrollment goals.
- Oversee recruitment team performance ensuring achievement of inquiry to started application and conversion to enrollment targets.
- Utilize data analytics to track recruitment trends measure effectiveness and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Enhance CDUs presence at college fairs community events healthcare facilities and industry conferences.
- Develop new articulation agreements MOUs and pathways for community college transfer students.
- Establish and maintain strong partnerships with community colleges faculty transfer center staff and academic advisors to increase CDUs visibility and enhance transfer students to CDU.
- Plan and execute TransferFest presentations and panels tailored for community college university and healthcare prospective students interested in transferring into CDUs undergraduate programs.
- In partnership with the Student Affairs team give presentations to students in the 3Yr Bachelors program that help build awareness around various health professions programs offered at CDU.
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of our recruitment efforts partnership initiatives and growth in transfer and new student enrollment.
- Develop articulation agreements and dualenrollment opportunities to facilitate student transfer pathways.
- Collaborate with healthcare organizations and communitybased programs to increase awareness and engagement.
- Maintain accurate records and reporting in Slate CRM (Customer Relationship Management) of outreach and recruitment activities student inquiries attendance show rates influencers/contacts and conversion rates for all recruitment initiatives
- Provide regular reports and recommendations to the Vice Provost for Enrollment Management regarding partnership growth inquiry student growth and development transfer student inquiry trends and strategic improvements.
- Building a pipeline of underrepresented students through community partnerships.
- Develop and execute strategies to enhance student enrollment and foster partnerships with schools and communities to support recruitment efforts particularly for historically underserved populations.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all recruitment efforts at CDU in partnership with the CDU Admissions unit.
- Provide training and development to ensure stakeholder units such as Admissions Financial Aid Office of the Registrar and Colleges are aware of and understand current and new transfer and prospective student pathway agreements.
- Conduct outreach activities to attract prospective students including generating opportunities for participation in college fairs and community events
- Host and develop all student presentations virtually and inperson
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
EDUCATION:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited institution is required. Masters degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- 510 years of management experience in a university community college or 4year institution.
- 35 years in higher education admissions (recruitment activities or admissions procedures).
KNOWLEDGE/ABILITY/SKILLS:
- The position requires excellent communication and organizational skills; experience with program administration staff leadership and demonstrable success in student engagement and inquiry conversion growth for enrollment.
- Proficiency in using CRM systems applicant tracking systems and other admissionsrelated software.
- Effectively enters and manages data within the Slate database including logging calls activities and engagements.
