The Overwatch team is looking for an accomplished UI/UX designer specifically at a midlevel with several years of experience creating engaging and immersive user interfaces. The work will be at the core of our player experience from the intro screen to the ingame HUD. Our ideal candidate will understand the project vision and create user experiences that will be both intuitive and stay true to the visual identity of the game.
We will be asking you to work within our very collaborative team to create concepts and take them from a UX flow all the way to ingame UI. You will be working closely with other UI/UX designers system & gameplay designers engineers and design/art leads to create awesome features for Overwatch.
Responsibilities for a UX Designer include:
- Create concepts flows layouts mockups and prototypes
- Collaborate with artists engineers and designers to create and implement a polished and fluid interface leading to great user experience
- Design game interfaces that complement and develop the Overwatch style
- Work together with the team throughout the design process gathering actionable feedback and iterating at the appropriate levels
Requirements for a UX Designer:
- Ideal candidate has a minimum of 35 years of experience in UX/UI design including some experience on AAA title(s)
- Experience designing for multiple platforms PC Consoles
- Create and maintain UX wireframes and flows with Figma XD or other prototyping tools
- Work with UI Design to create well thought out and polished designs our players will enjoy
- Experience with frontend implementation (e.g. XAML HTML5)
- Able to communicate the UI/UX process effectively
- Positive attitude and an ability to receive and provide objective feedback
- Able to work creatively in a demanding team environment while helping others
- Passion for playing and making games
Pluses:
- Proficient in After Effects Adobe Animate or other motion graphic tools
- Shipped at least one AAA game as a UI/UX designer
- Can apply an existing aesthetic to your layouts and prototypes
- Experience in designing UI/UX for multiplayer games
- Knowledgeable about online gameplay and firstperson shooters
Submission / Portfolio requirements:
- Cover Letter is required
- Portfolio demonstrating relevant artistic and design skills required
- Only online artwork submissions will be accepted (e.g. website blog or online album)
- Must be willing to complete a UI/UX test if requested to do so

You can learn more by visiting the U.S. the standard base pay range for this role is $37.26 $68.93 Hourly. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately your specific range and offer will be based on several factors including relevant experience performance and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this roles range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed. While we strive to provide competitive offers to successful candidates new hire compensation is negotiable.
