At a Glance!The Bilingual Outreach Navigator is responsible for providing specific outreach to the Spanishspeaking community within the district including attending community events providing information in Spanish and translating recruitment material into Spanish. The Bilingual Outreach Navigator also recruits and provides ongoing support to high school students throughout the college service district including applying to Lower Columbia College financial aid and scholarship preparation and completion educating students about dual credit opportunities and providing direct support with other admissions activities. Reporting to the Director of Outreach the Bilingual Navigator will also support the Director and the Outreach team in event planning and execution recruitment and engagement of prospective students within the college service district.

We are looking for someone who has exceptional customer service skills is highly collaborative and willing to go the extra mile to provide a welcoming and inclusive experience for LCCs diverse student population. The Outreach Navigator is an active participant of LCCs Student Services Council focused on collaboration and coordination of holistic student support across a students educational journey. Serving as a liaison from the Outreach department the Navigator must build and maintain highly collaborative relationships across campus with Advising Effectiveness and College Relations Faculty Financial Aid OneStop Registration Testing and other campus services to ensure excellent service and support to students.


The Bilingual Outreach Navigator is classified as a Program Specialist 2 and is 40 hrs/week. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm with some evening and weekend responsibilities. There is a 5% assignment pay premium for use of Spanish skills in addition to the posted salary range (following Spanish assessment). The Bilingual Outreach Navigator reports to the Director of Outreach Services.

Examples of Duties & Responsibilities


  • Plan facilitate host and participate in outreach events including presentations and orientations to new and prospective students high school counselors LCC advisors and other parties that promote LCC opportunities including dual credit application support enrollment processes scholarship and financial aid and other activities related to community engagement and college outreach and recruitment.


  • Provide campus tours and oncampus visits.

  • In partnership with the Outreach Director engage business industry and other external partners to participate in a variety of activities that enhance students understanding of various aspects of the industry related to their field of study and engage employers in a variety of career related learning experiences.

  • Maintain accurate files forms contact information and tracking of prospective students including using college systems and tools.

  • Manage a designated group of new students in order to complete welcoming activities and communications such as text message communication tracking New Student engagement and referring students to appropriate LCC resources.

  • Monitor enrollment and achievement indicators to ensure access retention and completion of diverse student populations.

  • Work closely with the student ambassadors and OneStop Center to ensure seamless onboarding for students.

  • Maintain positive relationships with all participating schools LCC staff and faculty local industry higher education partners and community members

  • Other duties as assigned
