Job Description

Regal Rexnord Aerospace Solutions supplies engineered high performance spherical and cylindrical bearings mechanical seals gears and electrical components to the commercial air transport regional aircraft business aircraft helicopter and military aircraft markets for use in engine systems flight control systems landing gear systems and airframe structures. Our aerospace bearing and seal products consist of rolling element airframe bearings and bearing tooling sold under the Shafer and TriRoller brand names Teflon lined polymeric bearings sold under the Tuflite brand name slotted entry split ball and split race bearings sold under the PSI brand name selflubricating machinable lined bearings and coatings sold under the Rexlon brand name and mechanical seals sold under the Cartriseal brand name. Gears and electrical components sold under the Micro Precision brand name. Our global customer base includes all major engine and airframe OEMs as well as major Tier 1 2 and 3 suppliers to the engine and airframe OEMs and through our FAA approved repair stations we support major MRO and aircraft operators with repair and overhaul capabilities.

Brief Description

Rexnord Industries LLC a leading supplier in the Aerospace industry is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Manager responsible for managing the overall safety health and environmental activities with the primary goal of reducing loss and liability. This position will develop and manage a program that ensures compliance with state local and federal regulations for two manufacturing facilities.

This position will report directly to the Plant Manager.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage workers compensation loss control program which includes monitoring claim levels reducing costs and early return to work.
  • Develop implement and manage safety programs (LOTO Hazard Communication and Waste Emergency Response Fall Protection Respiratory Protection Hearing Conservation JRAs etc.) to ensure compliance with OSHA and applicable environmental standards at multiple locations.
  • Provide or coordinate all mandatory and nonmandatory training to comply with local state and federal regulations.
  • Provide or coordinate all Regulatory Reporting such as but not limited to Hazardous and NonHazardous Waste Disposal Air Emissions EPCRA Tier II (Toxic Release) and IMEA Radiation.
  • Regulatory Permitting and Permit Compliance for Air Water and Waste under Key Accountabilities such as RCRA
  • Investigate accidents prepare and maintain required reports. Identify countermeasures to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Coordinate and perform all OSHA mandated testing and training programs including industrial hygiene testing.
  • Provide new hire orientation outlining Rexnords high expectations regarding safety rules and regulations.
  • Organize lead and participate in all safety committee activities.
  • Perform frequent environmental and safety audits to ensure compliance with local state and federal regulations.
  • Assist in the development of a behavior based safety program (i.e. Dupont Stop).
  • Lead and maintain policies and procedure management to ensure safety in both the work environment and equipment.
  • Prepare written safety objectives and submit action plans to meet those objectives.
  • Incorporate ergonomics in the workplace and conduct Job Safety Analysis as required.

Job Requirements/Capabilities and Success Factors

  • Restrictions imposed by federal export control laws may limit this job opportunity to candidates who are a U.S. Person which includes U.S. citizens U.S. nationals U.S. permanent residents individuals granted asylum in the United States and refugees in the United States or who otherwise can qualify for a license that permits them to hold the position.
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with a major in occupational safety environmental science or a closely related field.
  • 5 years experience with OSHA and Environmental Regulations experience required in a CNC Manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Must possess a theoretical and practical knowledge of all state and federal regulatory standards including OSHA EPA RCRA DOT and DNR.
  • Annual RCRA training must be up to date.
  • High knowledge of current safety and loss control practices is essential.
  • Travel is required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate safety and environmental procedures in training.
  • Must be proficient in Word Excel and PowerPoint.
