Job Description
Job Responsibilities
Assist project manager with estimating planning coordinating directing and managing inmate construction and renovation projects.
Assist with cost estimates for materials project time manpower and total cost.
Assist project manager with scheduling projects monitoring project costs and requisitioning materials.
Perform project inspections to monitor work oversee inmate labor and assist in obtaining skilled inmate workers.
Assist project manager with verifying and approving time.
Collaborate with engineers and architects to coordinate changes and modifications to project drawings.
Position requires working with inmates traveling and oncall 24/7 rotation.
Must successfully complete four (4) week SCDC Basic Training upon hire.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and professional experience in building repairs and maintenance or in the specific area of assignment.SCDC Minimum Requirements:
(Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources)
A high school diploma and eight (8) years of commercial construction and supervisory experience.
Must have a Class B CDL license or obtain within six (6) months of hire.
Must complete four (4) weeks basic training.
