What is Canal Convergence
Canal Convergence is an internationally recognized free tennight public art event that takes over the Scottsdale Waterfront each November. This entirely outdoor immersive event features largescale lightbased artworks as well as educational workshops familyfriendly activities art and history tours live music and dance performances a beer and wine garden food trucks and more!
Largescale public artworks will illuminate the Scottsdale Waterfront each evening from Friday Nov. 7 through Sunday Nov. 16 2025.
Important Details to Know:
Compensation: $15.00/hr and 140 hours per semester (280 in total for 2 semesters)
Shift/Hours: Shift hours can vary though it will most likely average 15 hours/ week. Must have open availability for majority of November 16 from 4:00 10:00 pm.

Here is what you will get to do:
1. Assists in event planning elements leading up to Canal Convergence including Canal Convergence collateral reviews assists in crossdepartmental collaboration various operational elements like staff scheduling signage management crowd engagement surveys and event research as needed.
2. Organizes Canal Convergence Archives as needed.
3. Assists during festival execution in October/November setup teardown staffing oversight and other duties as needed.
4. Presents findings in a final project and comprehensive presentation at the conclusion of the internship.
Here is what you will need to be successful:
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. 1. Education: Must be a current college student or recent graduate.
2. Experience: Events Communications Marketing Hospitality and Design. Other majors are welcome to apply if they feel this role would be a good fit for them. Strong research and writing skills are preferred as is experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
3. Attributes:
Positive attitude enthusiasm and team spirit
Strong project management and organizational skills
4. Work Environment: Frequent sitting with regular periods of extended standing and walking. Specific vision abilities include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral and depth perception Use of hands to finger handle or feel reach with hands and arms. Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbsKB1 . Exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
5. Other requirements:
Must possess a valid drivers license and driving record which is acceptable to the organizations insurance carrier.
Must be 21 years of age or older
Must have reliable transportation
Bonus if you can do the following:
Familiarity with Asana
Experience with Adobe Design Software is a plus but not required
