Job Description

Meet the Press with Kristen Welker is looking for a Researcher/Production Associate with exceptional editorial skills strong news judgment a demonstrated expertise in covering politics and policy as well as strong tape digital and social skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with graphic artists and graphics coordinator to conceive develop and execute graphics
  • Translate political polling to television with attention to detail
  • Generate and pitch show ideas program guests and franchise segments
  • Produce political panel
  • Gather sound and assist with Meet the Press interview elements and spots
  • Produce guest research and write questions for Meet the Press moderator
  • Shoot and edit stories for digital and social platforms and elements for broadcast
  • Edit show promos early release clips and other show franchises
  • Identify top newsmaking moments for NBC News affiliates
  • Assist with show archiving
  • Edit and socialize breakout clips for social platforms including TikTok Instagram and
  • Contribute to Meet the Press blog
  • Assist with podcast production for The Chuck ToddCast and other audio projects

Qualifications :

  • At least 2 years of experience in news production
  • At least 2 years of tape field and editing experience
  • Bachelors degree and/or equivalent experience
  • Must be willing to work in Washington DC
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
  • Must be available to work Saturdays & Sundays as part of the regular weekly schedule and evenings and holidays as required

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to perform well under pressure

Additional Requirements:

  • Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits including medical dental and vision insurance 401(k) paid leave tuition reimbursement and a variety of other discounts and perks.
