Position Information
Salary:
KCERA Network Engineer:$2213.71 $2645.59 Biweekly
KCERA Senior Network Engineer:$3217.91 $3845.70 Biweekly
Examinations:
Appraisal (Weight 100%): Will be conducted for the purpose of evaluating the applicants training education experience interest and personal fitness for the position. Appraisal can be based on any combination of the following: Investigation oral exam and/or rating of the application.
Qualified candidates will be notified of the testing date five days prior to the examination.
Applicants must attain at least a 70% score on each phase of the examination process.
Minimum Qualifications / Employment Standards
KCERA Network EngineerGraduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelors degree including 15 semester (25 quarter) units in computer science or management information systems AND one (1) year of paid experience in a complex IT environment utilizing principles and techniques which include system support troubleshooting and resolution of network problems and managing or coordinating network technology implementations for a department or organization with increasing levels of complexity; OR Completion of (60) semester (90) quarter units from an accredited college or university with course work in computer science or management information systems AND three (3) years of paid experience in a complex IT environment utilizing principles and techniques which include system support troubleshooting and resolution of network problems and managing or coordinating network technology implementations for a department or organization with increasing levels of complexity; OR Five (5) years of paid experience in a complex IT environment utilizing principles and techniques which include system support troubleshooting and resolution of network problems and managing or coordinating network technology implementations for a department or organization with increasing levels of complexity.

Qualifying experience must have been within the last five (5) years.
Both Levels:
Applicants must possess the physical capacity to perform all essential tasks.
Valid California Class C Drivers License is required at the time of appointment

- Admittance to the examination will require a valid government issued photograph identification. Applicants who are unable to present proper identification must make arrangements with the Human Resources Division prior to the test date.A background check may be conducted for this classification. Following an offer of employment you may be required to submit to post offer medical and drug screening tests at County expense.This examination will establish an eligible list from which immediate appointment(s) will be made. Other permanent and temporary appointments will be made as needed.
