Position Purpose/Summary:

The Financial Analyst is primarily responsible for working with the Chief Financial Officer to perform various functions related to financial analyses accounting and various special accounting analyses and projects for LSC affiliates and related organizations. The financial analyst acts as an intermediary between accounting/finance and the operations team.

Must be able to commute to Salisbury NC.

1 Analyzes financial operations of organization

2 Prepares written monthly comments regarding financial operations for reports and presentations to team members and residents

3 Develops annual forecasts & projections

4 Translates financial results to team members and residents

5 Works on special projects and requests for financial information as requested by supervisor

6 Interfaces with accounting staff to ensure accurate financial reports

7 Assists with preparation of audit work papers for annual audit as needed

8 Assists with data accumulation for cost report preparation

9 Selfstarter but team player

Qualifications

Education: B.A. degree in Business or Accounting or comparative work experience

Experience: Indepth knowledge of general ledger and financial reporting; 5 plus years in financial analysis strongly preferred. Prior experience in healthcare social services retirement services or nonprofit environment a plus

Specific skills/abilities: Proven ability with computers and Microsoft office products (Word Excel Power Point).

Specialized knowledge licenses etc:

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

1. Office environment; sitting at desk and in front of computer for extended periods

2. Ability to bend stoop reach overhead

3. Limited travel to facilities

4. Understands the uses of office equipment

5. Maintains confidentiality

6. Remains cordial and tactful with residents families business contacts and staff

7. Completes other duties as may be necessary for the orderly operation of the department.
