Job Description

Midland University a private faith based liberal arts university in Fremont Nebraska (just outside of Metro Omaha) is seeking a Residence Life Coordinator (RLC). This is a fulltime appointment with startdate to be determined. This is a 12month livein hourly position from 8AM to 4:30PM that requires approximately 40 hours per work week with additional evening and weekend hours possible.

Position Summary:

Midland University is seeking a passionate and dedicated Residence Life Coordinator (RLC) to join our Student Life team. As a livein professional staff member the RLC is responsible for creating a safe inclusive and supportive residential environment that enhances student development and success. This role oversees the daily operations of oncampus residential communities and plays a pivotal role in student engagement and community building.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise train provide professional development mentor and evaluate a team of Resident Advisors (RAs).
  • Foster a vibrant residential experience through programming and community engagement initiatives.
  • Address student conduct issues crisis situations and behavioral concerns in alignment with university policies.
  • Serve in an oncall rotation to respond to student emergencies and provide afterhours support.
  • Manage administrative functions such as room assignments maintenance requests occupancy reports and budget tracking.
  • Collaborate with campus departments to support student academic and personal success.
  • Lead training sessions for student staff and facilitate hall meetings with residents.
  • Participate in departmental planning assessment and committee work.
  • Promote residential belonging within the oncampus living community.

Minimum Qualifications:

*Bachelors degree * Exceptional interpersonal leadership and organizational skills

* Sincere commitment to the goals and the mission of Student Life and Midland University

* Demonstrated personal and professional maturity

* Ability to work independently and make good decisions appropriate to the position

Required:

*Strong communication organizational and interpersonal skills.

*Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
