Job Description

JOB TITLE: Community Center Operations Lead

EXEMPT: Yes

SALARY LEVEL: Support Exempt

DEPARTMENT:Community Services

LOCATION: Pendergast Community Center

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 Months

REPORTS TO: Director of School Improvement and Program Development

DATE APPROVED:12/17/2024

SUMMARY: The Community Center Operations Lead is responsible for the development and successful operation and programming for the Community Center. Responsibilities include supporting with budget preparation and monitoring revenues and expenditures; developing and working collaboratively with community partners; community members within the larger Maricopa County area as well as with Pendergast Elementary School District communities; working with our schools in order to maintain a safe environment for all programs and events at the Community Center.

SUPERVISES: None

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience implementing and oversight of community programs
  • Event planning and management experience
  • AA degree in Family Human Development Early Childhood Communications or related field and a minimum of three year experience
  • Experience working with low SES families
  • Experience working with diverse communities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to coordinate trainings to school teams and parents
  • Effective communication social and public relations and organizational skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Extensive knowledge of community resources

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS or BA in Family Human Development Communications Marketing
  • Computer Skills
  • Five years experience in program management setting
  • Marketing and Promotional Skills
  • Grant reporting experience
  • Community Relations Experience
  • Five years or more experience supervising community programs
  • Bilingual

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Establish and maintain good rapport with students employees community members and vendors
  2. Collaboratively with Director of School Improvement and Program Development establishes vision goals and processes for evaluating Community Education programs
  3. Oversees and maintains all development and operations of the Community Center
  4. Evaluate operational performance of the Community Center review work methods and procedures develop and implement changes in work process forms workflow and/or equipment use to ensure efficient operations and compliance with state and federal policies regulations and legislation.
  5. Supports community outreach to develop partnerships with community organizations service agencies and businesses
  6. Works collaboratively with school and district administrators staff and community at large to coordinate programs and facility use for community education purposes
  7. Communicates with District and school personnel and community members about all facets and programs of Community Education
  8. Oversee the overall quality of the Community Centers service delivery by regularly analyzing relevant data and reports and implementing improved programs policies and procedures wherever possible.
  9. Creates partnerships that promote and encourage services programs and education that benefits the students and families in Pendergast School District
  10. Maintains a safe environment for all Community Education programs events and activities
  11. Strengthen families and their involvement in the education of children by encouraging parents to form a strong schoolfamily partnership to support student learning.
  12. Monitor community participation & reevaluate community needs
  13. Performs such other duties and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Superintendent/Designee

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provision of the Board policy or evaluation of professional personnel.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw conclusions; ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several concrete variables.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read analyze and interpret education materials and programs; ability to write reports procedure manuals and correspondence; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of teachers students administration and the community.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to work with mathematical problems such as probability and statistical inference; ability to apply concepts such as fractions percentages ratios and proportions to practical situations.
