Job Summary:
The parttime Middle School Social Studies Teacher is responsible for creating a classroom environment that fosters curiosity critical thinking and an understanding of history geography civics and economics. The teacher will design engaging lessons that align with the Washington State K12 Social Studies Learning Standards and promote civic responsibility among students.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging standardsbased lessons in social studies for grades 68.
Integrate literacy writing and research skills into social studies curriculum.
Use a variety of instructional strategies and technology to meet diverse learning needs.
Incorporate technology and digital resources into instruction.
Create a positive inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
Assess and monitor student progress using both formative and summative assessments.
Maintain clear and effective communication with families regarding student progress.
Participate in professional development and schoolwide initiatives.
Maintain accurate student records and complete required reports.
Collaborate with colleagues
Ensure that Washington State History curriculum requirements are fulfilled

Required:

Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate
Social Studies endorsement is preferred
Demonstrate understanding of Washington State Social Studies Standards.

Salary: $45000 to $60000 Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity internal salary ranges market data applicants skills and prior relevant experience degrees and certifications.
