AECOM is now accepting resumes for various technical specialist positions to perform the tasks listed below in the Project Overview.
Technical Specialists may include: Architect Civil Engineer Coastal Engineer Electrical Engineer Environmental Engineer Geologist Health Scientist Hydraulic Engineer Hydrologist Industrial Hygienist Mechanical Engineer Sanitary Engineer and Soil/Geotechnical Engineer.
The Technical Specialists will be embedded within FEMA to provide technical assistance that may include the following:
Conduct site inspections to validate and record infrastructure damage to include: taking photographs making site sketches and writing detailed damage descriptions.
Develop and review scopes of work and cost estimates including code and standard requirements.
Review and analyze engineering reports designs and asbuilt plans.
Make recommendations regarding claim eligibility.
Develop or evaluate hazard mitigation proposals and benefitcost analyses.
Work with applicants to prioritize their projects facilitates applicant meetings throughout the program delivery and recovery stages and communicates the final determination to the applicants.
Provide analyses and updates reports participates in status update meetings with FEMA and identifies the need for technical specialists. Maycoordinate and complete basic to moderately complex site inspections to validate and record damage to assist in the FEMAPublic Assistance grant delivery process.
All Technical Specialists will use FEMAs Grants Manager system. FEMAs Grants Manager system is used to assign and track actions throughout PA project development and to collect all PA projectrelated information and documents including correspondence.
If selected the role would initially be a parttime casual position and would become fulltime upon task order awards.
Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Construction Science or Engineering field with 4 years of related technical experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Due to the nature of the work must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain DHS Public Trust clearance.
Technical knowledgebaseand experience in disciplines standard concepts principles and techniques as well as in the design and/or construction of public infrastructure.
Experience must fall under engineering architecture cost estimating or construction inspection and management.
Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook Teams Excel and Word) Adobe Acrobat Google Earth (file conversion and import/export ability required) and smartphone.
Must be able to commit to travel assignments for up to 1 year in duration. Trips home to your residence are reimbursed and allowed every 3045 days depending on task order specifics.
Must have a valid drivers license as a condition of employment pass AECOMs motor vehicle records review.
Must provide completion certificates including your first and last name for the following free and publicly available courses.
Security/Privacy Courses (must have 2024 completion dates)
Unauthorized Disclosure of Classified or Unclassified Information ( Training ( Threat Training ( at DHS: Protecting Personal Information ( Technology Security Awareness Training (Cyber Awareness Challenge) ( Study Courses (completion dates do not have to be recent)
IS1000: Public Assistance Program and Eligibility ( The Public Assistance Delivery Model Orientation ( FEMA Grants Portal Transparency at Every Step ( The FEMA Site Inspection Process ( Determination Memorandums and Appeals ( Qualifications:
Bachelors degree with 5 years of experience in a related field and professional registration or Bachelors degree with 10 years of experience in a related field
Professional Engineering (PE) license.
Constructionrelated experience a plus such as civil engineers structural engineers mechanical engineers electrical engineers environmental engineers/planners coastal engineers site inspectors and architects.
Prior FEMA PA and/or CRC experience preferred but not required including experience with and understanding of FEMAsPA Program and Policy Guide (PAPPG) the Stafford Act 44 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 2 CFR Sandy Recovery Improvement Act (SRIA) Legislation PA grant documentation review or project development experience validating PA grant documentation and developing or reviewing damage descriptions and dimensions scopes of work and cost estimates for PA grant applications.
Experience using FEMA Grants Manager.
Current DHS Public Trust clearance/badge.
Effective written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
Experience providing excellent customer service.
Strong observational decisionmaking analytical critical thinking organizational and problemsolving skills with the ability to synthesize and present key disaster recovery issues and progress to resolution.
Flexible work style with the ability to immediately adapt to changing priorities.
Able to work independently in a team environment and under stressful conditions with tight deadlines and able to handle tense situations diplomatically.
Demonstrated behavior of flexibility adaptability and professionalism.

This project has a heavy focus on production and quality. Staff must be committed to completing the work efficiently and will be monitored and reviewed regularly.
The offer of employment is contingent on Task Order requirements your qualifications (education/experience) meeting task order requirements your availability for the specific Task Order your ability to obtain and maintain your PATAC training credentials and AECOM being awarded client Task Order.
This position is contingent upon the ability to obtain/maintain/transfer a DHS Public Trust Clearance.
As a condition of employment pass a DHS/FEMA background investigation.
This position is contingent upon task order and customer requirementsand/or their approval.
