Design Technologist, Amazon

Design Technology is Amazon Brand Innovation Labs custom development and prototyping team that works with advertisers 1p teams and agencies. We focus on the conception prototyping and execution of branded custom experiences across the Amazon canvas. In agencies such roles are often called Creative Technologists.

As a member of the Brand Innovation Lab (BIL) Design Technologists you will split your time between execution and strategy. You will contribute to the definition of new ad products presales prototypes and custom campaign executions all while working directly with Art Copy Product Managers Producers and Account teams.

As a Design Technologist (DT) you will lead the development of large firsttomarket creative Advertising campaigns that set new standards for design and technical excellence. You will play a pivotal role in shaping how brands are perceived and interacted with on Amazons many surfaces at a global scale.

Applicants should have a comprehensive understanding of the current state and future of web technology with a critical awareness of implications on usercentered design. The core skills required are Html Scss React JS Typescript and knowledge of Figma. Nice to have: Adobe Creative Suite knowledge of WCAG AA accessibility standards experience with GenAI/LLMs Frameworks like React Spring and Framer Motion and familiarity with AWS.

You are customerobsessed detailoriented comfortable working on highly technical teams and are skilled in collaboration with nontechnical creative counterparts. You are a leader in the neverending process of improving your own and your teams standards writing documentation and are able to handle multiple projects in a highvelocity environment with a highlevel of autonomy. You can translate business requirements into barraising customer experiences by thinking first from a customers perspective and setting relentlessly high standards to achieve them.

You will bring disruptive ideas for how to concept create and deliver branded shopping experiences for millions of customers worldwide and work across desktop mobile Fire tablet Fire TV Alexa Twitch Amazon Live and other Amazon properties.


Key job responsibilities
* Own the endtoend frontend development producing high quality frontend code.
* Provide design and technical consultation working closely with designers and Solution Managers
* Concept firsttomarket innovations that utilize Amazons canvas alongside creative counterparts
* Prototype new features and products tackling ambiguous challenges that affect the global team.
* Optimize internal processes and tooling for broader impact strategically aligning initiatives to maximize revenue and influence
* Present work to peers product teams and Senior leadership
* Expand your influence by collaborating with partner teams increasing productivity and effectiveness within the Brand Innovation Lab.

* 1 years as Typescript React developer engineer or UX prototyper experience
* Have an available online portfolio or relevant work examples to share
* Excellent written/verbal communication presentation interpersonal and analytical skills
* Understanding and usage across a broad spectrum of technologies including (but not limited to): React/JavaScript/NodeJS HTML/CSS.
* Understanding of WCAG AA standards and accessibility
* Experience using Figma to translate designs to websites

* 1 years of Advertising design agency or similar clientside experience
* Experience using AWS in production environments
* Understanding of performance and how to mitigate latency issues
* Experience building work to high accessibility standards
