Plans and conducts timely the Quality Assurance / inspection activities at supplier end in India under direction from the Quality Manager and Purchasing Manager of GEA IPO Pune

- Supplier development through APQP and PPAP methodology
- Communicate quality requirements and expectations to suppliers clearly and effectively.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams.
- Build and maintain good relationships with suppliers.
- Support suppliers for meeting delivery commitments.
- Support purchasing function in managing effectively new product introductions and product revisions at suppliers.
Goals of the position
To support in procuring parts of the right and consistent quality and in line with required delivery dates for GEA plants worldwide.
Tasks & Responsibilities
Supplier Selection Audits and On going Audits:
- Facilitate supplier selection through onsite audits of supplier facilities to assess their compliance to ISO 9001 clauses with focus on quality management systems & production processes.
- Evaluate supplier capabilities and identify potential risks.
- Work with suppliers ongoing basis to implement corrective action plans and improve their quality performance.
Inspection and Testing:
- Conduct predispatch dimensional and visual inspections of parts under development and series supply.
- Perform various tests using appropriate measuring tools and equipment to verify compliance with specifications.
- Identify and document any nonconformances or defects.
- Analyze inspection and test results to determine root causes and corrective actions.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of inspections tests audits and nonconformances.
- Prepare detailed reports summarizing findings and recommendations.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers internal teams and management regarding quality issues.
- Regular formal reporting on vendor quality performance to all concerned GEA team members .
- Follow internal operational procedures and maintain relevant fields and parameters in the ERP system.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities ongoing basis for improvement in supplier processes and quality systems.
- Work with suppliers to implement process improvements and enhance product quality.
- Promote the use of quality tools and methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma
Your Profile / Qualifications
Qualifications competencies & skills
- Diploma / BE in Mechanical or Production Engineering
Work experience:
- 10 to 12 years of experience in supplier quality assurance / management or a similar role.
Professional competencies:
- Good knowledge of Metrology & Measurement devices
- Strong understanding of quality management systems (e.g. ISO 9001)
- Experience with quality tools and methodologies (e.g. SPC FMEA PPAP).
Additional skills (Beneficial):
- Certification as a Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or similar.
- Experience with Mechanical industries or manufacturing processes.
- Experience in interacting with foreign companies.
Personal competencies:
- Excellent communication interpersonal and problemsolving skills.
- Ability to travel to supplier locations as needed
- Good stretch ability to work under pressure and under adverse situation
Languages:
- English : Good proficiency required in Written and Verbal
