Job Description
Identity Services owns the systems that enable authenticating and identifying every Amazon customer in the world. Every aspect of the Amazon global business depends on our systems to know who the customer is and if our systems are not up and running the company stops. We balance keeping our systems fast scalable and performant (no exceptions!) with rapidly delivering great features for Amazon customers and our developer partners. In short we get to own and innovate on a critical customer experience while also supporting nearly every other business at the company; the best of both worlds
We are looking for a motivated Technical Program Manager with the desire and talent to contribute to our vision. As a Sr Technical Manager of the Identity team you will take the Authentication charter to next level. This role is crossfunctional and requires a strong ability to think big and influence teams across Amazon. You should be comfortable dealing with ambiguity and display high levels of bias for action and ownership. You will be required to understand the different use cases work with engineering teams to find and fine tune the solutions work with senior management to evangelize and drive adoption and share reports with executives.
You must possess strong verbal and written communication skills be selfdriven and deliver high quality results in a fastpaced environment. Were looking for people who are smart and can get things done. If you have an entrepreneurial spirit know how to deliver are innovative and long for the opportunity to build solutions to challenging problems in Identity then we want you as a Sr. Technical Manager for Amazons eCommerce Platform Identity Services group.
Key job responsibilities
Key responsibilities: As a Sr TPM you will be expected to
Own programs with significant complexity with broad crossorganizational and/or deep architectural impact.
Drive large engineering efforts that solve significantly difficult problems with complete independence.
Identify risks/opportunities in technical strategies architecture(s) in engineering organization structure(s).
Scope plan implement and deliver projects and programs and collaborate with program managers and senior leaders to align with strategic vision and goals
Drive projects cross functionally build partnerships with other organizations and work proactively with business teams to ensure security objectives are met
Integrate information security into organizational development and processes
Establish metrics and regular reporting mechanisms
Support deep dive assessments and adhoc data analysis requests
Deliver findings recommendations and remediation steps for all activities
7 years of working directly with engineering teams experience
5 years of technical product or program management experience
3 years of software development experience
5 years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
Bachelors degree in engineering computer science or equivalent
5 years of project management disciplines including scope schedule budget quality along with risk and critical path management experience
Experience managing projects across cross functional teams building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
Experience defining KPIs/SLAs used to drive multimillion dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
