Job Description
Job Summary
Synechron is seeking an experienced Automation Tester with expertise in API QA to join our dynamic team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software solutions through effective automation testing strategies. As an Automation Tester you will contribute to the delivery of highquality digital solutions that align with our business objectives and enhance client satisfaction.
Software Requirements
- Required:
- Proficiency in Core Java and Python
- Experience with REST ASSURED or Karate for API testing
- Proficiency in JUnit framework Cucumber and BDD methodology
- Experience with Java IDEs such as Eclipse or IntelliJ
- Handson experience with GIT JIRA Jenkins
- Strong understanding of REST API types (GET PUT POST DELETE)
- Knowledge of HTTP JSON protocols and syntax
- Understanding of Message Schema RAML/OAS specifications
- Exposure to cloud architecture preferably AWS
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and Docker
- Preferred:
- Understanding of STUB/Service virtualization
- Familiarity with API testing tools like POSTMAN Rest Client Anypoint
- Exposure to retail banking functions and requirements
Overall Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product Owner/Analysts to refine user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Evaluate functional and nonfunctional requirements for automation suitability.
- Design script and execute test automation scenarios documenting results.
- Enhance automation pack coverage and testing cycle pass rates.
- Participate in release activities and provide QA signoffs.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary Agile team to achieve project goals.

Experience Requirements
- Proven 10 years experience with test automation of backend/REST API.
- Deep knowledge of testing methodologies and agile environments.
- Experience working with cloudbased architecture and continuous integration.
- Alternative experience pathways in software development or testing roles are considered valuable.

- Analyze user stories and acceptance criteria for testability.
- Design and execute automated tests ensuring comprehensive coverage.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to refine testing strategies.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies to align on project deliverables.
- Provide QA signoffs ensuring highquality software releases.
Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in software testing or Agile methodologies are preferred.
