About the Role

The Northern Trust Company seeks a senior Lead DevSecOps and AI Engineer that will assist in the execution of the strategic vision of Northern Trust Asset Managements Distribution Technology capabilities. The successful candidate will be strong technical leader and will be responsible in the development of a comprehensive technology platform.

We are looking for a DevSecOps & AI Engineer to join our highperforming team at the intersection of cloud infrastructure applied AI and application security. This is a handson engineering role designed for someone who thrives on solving complex technical problems and shaping secure scalable cloudnative platforms.

Youll work across a broad spectrum of engineering pipelinesfrom web applications to microservices infrastructureascode and AI/ML workflows primarily on Microsoft Azure. This role offers a unique opportunity to embed security and automation into every layer of our digital delivery within the demanding and highly regulated context of financial services.

Job Description and Key Responsibilities

• Build and secure multidomain CI/CD pipelines including
  • Application development (e.g. microservices UI)
  • Infrastructure provisioning using Terraform
  • Machine Learning and AI deployment workflows on Azure AI
• Design and implement DevSecOps automation integrating security tools and compliance gates (SAST DAST IaC scanning etc.) into GitHub Actions pipelines.
• Provision and manage Azure cloud environments including AKS AI services and other resources through infrastructureascode.
• Collaborate closely with developers data scientists platform engineers and security stakeholders to ensure securebydesign delivery across all technology layers.
• Monitor and observe systems in production using tools like Azure Application Insights Dynatrace and proactively resolve issues.
• Contribute to architecture decisions that balance agility performance security and regulatory requirements.

What Were Looking For

MustHave Skills

• 10 years of total experience in software development.
• 5 years of experience in DevOps Site Reliability Engineering or Platform Engineering roles
• Proven ability to engineer and scale complex systems in production
• Able to guide and mentor junior developers
• Solid understanding of DevSecOps principles and integration into CI/CD pipelines
• Strong expertise in:
  • Azure cloud services and ecosystem (e.g. AKS Azure AI Azure Resource Manager etc.)
  • InfrastructureasCode with Terraform
  • GitHub / GitHub Actions
  • Security tooling: Checkmarx SonarQube Wiz Microsoft Defender for Cloud
  • Monitoring and observability (Azure Application Insights Dynatrace or similar)

NicetoHave Skills

• Familiarity with MLOps / securing AI/ML pipelines.
• Awareness of data privacy risk and model governance frameworks in AI.
• Experience working in or with highly regulated industries.
• Knowledge of and handson experience with GitOps

Soft Skills

• Excellent communicator and team collaborator across domains.
• Strong problemsolving mindset with attention to both system design and implementation details.
• Comfortable in ambiguous fastevolving environments typical of finance and banking.
