Homebuilders Specialist (Family Intervention Specialist) LOCATION/SCHEDULE:Triangle Region NC Durham Orange Alamance Person Caswell Chatham and Randolph Counties. Primarily in client homes with flexible work week including evenings weekends and holidays. What is HOMEBUILDERS The HOMEBUILDERS model is an intensive inhome family preservation program aimed at preventing children from entering foster care or helping reunify families when children have been placed. The program serves families facing severe challenges by providing crisis intervention clinical services and practical support. The goal is to strengthen families and keep children safe in their homes. Your Impact:As a Homebuilders Specialist youll play a critical role in keeping families together and preventing children from entering foster care. Your commitment to the HOMEBUILDERS model will allow you to serve families whose children are at imminent risk of placement ensuring they receive intensive inhome services. Through your support youll empower families to overcome challenges promoting safety stability and positive change. Youll work closely with families providing a mix of clinical and practical support and advocating for the necessary services to keep families united. Education/Experience/Licensure: - Meets requirements for HOMEBUILDERS standards which are one of the following:
- Graduate degree in human services or related field.
- Graduate student in the final year of their program and at least one year of relevant clinical experience working with children and families.
- Bachelor degree in human services or related field and at least two years of relevant clinical experience working with children and families.
Skills/Competencies: - Commitment to the HOMEBUILDERS model and demonstrated flexibility in various settings.
- Working knowledge of the state child welfare and mental health systems (strongly preferred).
- Strong ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with families coworkers and community collaborators.
- Excellent discretion and client confidentiality skills.
- Adaptive problemsolving skills ability to manage crisis situations and sensitivity to cultural issues that affect care.
- Professional interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft and Google products email and other software programs.
- Sense of humor creativity and a willingness to learn from challenges.
- Must possess a valid drivers license a working vehicle and be willing to travel.
Job Duties and Responsibilities: - Adhere to all components in the HOMEBUILDERS Standards.
- Serve families with children at imminent risk of placement providing services in their homes.
- Maintain a flexible workweek including evenings weekends and holidays to meet family needs.
- Accept referrals 24/7 schedule and complete intakes within 24 hours of referral.
- Be available to families 24/7 ensuring backup from supervisors when needed.
- Typically serve 1820 families per year working with 23 families at a time.
- Provide 38 hours of facetoface contact per family spread over 46 weeks.
- Participate in weekly team consultation and consult with a supervisor about each family at least once per week.
- Assess family safety utilize clinical strategies to promote safety and provide concrete goods and services to families.
- Develop intervention goals and service plans in collaboration with families using cognitive/behavioral strategies to facilitate behavior change.
- Advocate with community resources and teach families to advocate for themselves.
- Complete all clinical documentation and program paperwork accurately and on time.
- Participate in required practitioner training and QUEST activities for professional growth.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with referring agencies and represent the agency in community meetings.
