The Role
UCLPartners delivers a full suite of innovation capabilities ranging from invention and product commercialisation; innovation adoption; impact evaluation; and future trend assessment. Our partnership spans the exceptional NHS providers research and higher education institutions who are our formal partners as well as the many industry partners innovators and patients who we work with to accelerate the development implementation and spread of innovationbased solutions to complex health care challenges.
This is a genuinely exciting opportunity to design and establish a new business development function within UCLPartners. Reporting to the Chief of Staff the Director of Business Development will be responsible for establishing the tools and approach for income generation in order to grow the business and accelerate progress towards achieving our strategic objectives.
Working closely with key members of the executive and senior leadership teams you will lead a programme of work to develop our gotomarket tools; design a marketdriven pricing strategy; develop business cases and pitch proposals for new projects; and embed a new business pipeline tracking process.
Housed within the Corporate Directorate but working out into the wider organisation this role will be best suited to a highly collaborative and experienced professional who can work well across a number of teams but doesnt need to manage their own team to have impact. It will require a highly proactive approach to find and pursue new growth and partnership opportunities; a willingness to roll up sleeves; and exceptional communication and relational skills to quickly establish credibility and be able to represent UCLPartners to senior stakeholders internally and externally.
This is a newly created role within our organisational structure being recruited to in the first instance as a 12month fixed term contract.

Job details
The Director of Business Development will report to the Chief of Staff. The role is a parttime fixedterm position covering 23 days per week for a 12month period. The remuneration for this post is competitive depending on experience with a salary range of 72100 to 103000 per annum.
We offer flexible working arrangements with an expectation of 40% onsite requirement. This combination of onsite and remote working enables us to come together when it matters most and promote a healthy worklife balance.
