Job Description

Job Title:Neuro Occupational Therapist
Band:6
Location: Taunton Somerset
Working Hours:37.5 hours
Rate: Competitive to be discussed upon application

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Neuro Occupational Therapist with experience in neurological rehabilitation to join our esteemed clients dynamic team in Nottingham Nottinghamshire. This position is available for an immediate start on a shortterm contract offering competitive rates.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role you will conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals physical mental and social needs following neurological events determining the urgency of new referrals and agreeing on the most appropriate course of action. You will act as the Care Coordinator responsible for the assessment planning implementation and coordination of evidencebased care for individuals affected by neurological conditions. You will oversee and manage clinical risks by carrying out clinical risk assessments and mitigating risks with personcentred care plans. Additionally you will provide support education and clinical supervision to newly qualified and junior staff. Active participation in service developments including the use of service user feedback and inhouse training will be expected. You will contribute to the development of care pathways and other treatment protocols liaise effectively with other professionals and agencies and provide leadership to the team on a shiftbyshift basis promoting and maintaining high standards of care in a fastpaced hospital environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
  • Full registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Previous experience working at Band 5 level
  • Experience of acute hospital medical and surgical caseloads
  • Strong NHS discharge planning experience
  • Experience of overseeing other OTs such as newly qualified/junior staff
  • Ability to work flexibly and autonomously in a fastpaced hospital environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
