Organisation:Eastern Shires Purchasing Organisation (ESPO)

Work Location:Barnsdale Way Grove Park Enderby Leicester LE19 1ES

WorkerCategory:Hybrid Worker 2 days required in the office

Salary:Leicester LE19 1ES

WorkingHours:37 hours per week with option of flexible working

ContractType:Permanent

ESPO is a highly successful public sector owned professional buying organisation (also known as a PBO). Originally established in 1981 ESPO has grown into a wellknown and highly respected millionpound organisation providing professional cost effective procurement and supply services to all of our customers. We are owned and governed by a consortium of six local authority members based in the East Midlands with Leicestershire County Council acting as the employer.

If youre looking for an exciting and challenging opportunity ESPO is seeking to appoint highly motivated individuals to work at various levels within our Procurement and Commercial Division.

Senior procurement officer

  • Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply or commitment to work towards achieving.
  • Significant or varied experience of working in a procurement environment in a medium/large complex organisation
  • Proven track record in conducting or managing procurement processes playing a lead role to ensure the process best meets objectives whilst seeking innovation and delivering savings and value for money

Procurement officer

  • Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply or commitment to work towards achieving.
  • Range of experience in purchasing and supply procedures and processes including sourcing tendering evaluation techniques etc
  • Experience of researching developing and maintaining knowledge on a specific market(s)/category of spend

Trainee procurement officer

  • Degree in Business Studies/Economics/ Commerce/Purchasing or relevant discipline
  • Ability to communicate with customers suppliers and colleagues via email in writing and at meetings
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills and a strong attention to detail
  • Manages time effectively to ensure tasks are completed and deadlines are met

Wed also expect you to shareour commitment to our valuesand will ask you to evidence when you have demonstrated them as part of the interview process.

This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent English is an essential requirement for this role.
