Job Description

Join the forefront of innovation as an IT Cloud Platform Engineer where youll be a key player in implementing highly scalable secure and cuttingedge cloudbased solutions. This is a key opportunity for an Azure DevOps Engineer to assist in the design deployment and management of cloud infrastructure on Azure. The role will be reporting to the IT Technical Services Lead and IT Infrastructure Services Manager.

The IT Infrastructure Services team is made up of 16 members of staff spread across the firms UK offices. As part of an agile and dynamic team youll collaborate with product owners developers key stakeholders and data engineers. Your creativity and technical prowess will drive the design automation and continuous improvement of our platforms processes and services.

Shift Pattern: 8am4pm and 10am6PM with flexibility to work out of hours to provide oncall support for any emergency

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the firms cloud services and VMware Broadcom environments across all Data Centres and offices.
  • Deploy and create scalable cloud solutions collaborating closely with development teams to architect and implement reliable and scalable cloud solutions using Azure services
  • Designing Cloud Architecture: Planning and developing cloud structures that meet organisation strategies focusing on scalability performance and security
  • Manage and maintain the firms vulnerability management solutions and remediate vulnerabilities in line with the firms policies.
  • Ensure that all Server infrastructure is patched in line with the firms patching policy and scheduling of changes.
  • Manage and maintain Windows server environment
  • Troubleshoot and fix Server system application related issues recording all troubleshooting steps and information in the IT Service Management tool.
  • Generate system and component capacity management reports on a weekly basis and conduct trend analysis.
  • Manage and maintain Windows Server Services such as Active Directory DNS DHCP and certificate services.
  • Providing advanced technical support to other department teams
  • Ensure all systems and services are proactively monitored using the tools utilised by the IT Department.
  • Manage and maintain the Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution.
  • Build and deploy Windows Servers and SAAS/PAAS solutions as required.
  • Liaise with vendors and external partners
  • Ensure that all servers and services have adequate BCDR protection in place.
  • Ensure that all servers are backed up in line with the firms backup policy.
  • Support and manage the firms Microsoft Dynamics AX solution.
  • Participate in the Out of Hours rota to monitor and respond to critical alerts in the network monitoring tools and any emergency escalations from the Service Desk and Management.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Proven extensive knowledge of Azure and Entra Services adhering to best practices in Azure security including identity management access control and threat protection.
  • Background in Infrastructure/Systems Administration/Dev Ops with knowledge of networking monitoring and support
  • Proficiency coding languages
  • Extensive proven working experience of maintaining vulnerability management solutions and remediating system vulnerabilities.
  • Proven working experience for managing server infrastructure in a Data Centre environment.
  • Strong Knowledge of Windows Server.
  • Strong Knowledge of Active Directory DNS DHCP and Windows Certificate Services.
  • Extensive Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Azure AWS and other cloud computing technologies.
  • Strong team player.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and under pressure as well as part of a wider team.
  • Effective time management
  • Proven knowledge of Managing and maintaining cybersecurity products.
  • Strong knowledge of security best practices and industry standard such as CIS and ISO27001.
  • ITIL foundation certification or knowledge of ITIL processes.
  • Must be willing to work weekends as required.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Must be willing to travel to other offices as required.
  • Several years experiencein a similar role.

Desirable but not essential:

  • Knowledge of Azure Tools including AKS Azure Functions and IAC tools such as Terraform
  • Network Application load balancing products such as F5 or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of MDM products such as Intune or equivalent products.
  • Knowledge and Hands on experience of Microsoft Dynamics AX.
  • Experience Configuring Firewalls Switches and Routers.
  • Supporting systems widely used in the Legal sectors.
