The position includes ECE Wage Enhancement ($4 per hour) for the childcare/preschool portion of the shift

Summary of Duties:
Casual/On call work includes leading a before/after school care program for kindergarten students (Seamless Day) and/or a preschool program for 4yearold children (Just B4).
Seamless Day:
Reporting to the Principal/District Vice Principal the Early Childhood Educator leads the before and after school care program for kindergarten students; and works alongside of the classroom teacher during the school day. The ECE collaborates with the classroom teacher and ECE team in the design of programs and environments which will enhance childrens cognitive physical social and emotional development. The ECE leads the programming for the before/after school care which follow the policies and procedures for the licenced childcare program.
Just B4:
Reporting to the District Vice Principal the Early Childhood Educator leads the licenced 2hour preschool program for 4yearold children. The ECE follows the design of the program and environment which will enhance childrens cognitive physical social and emotional development. The ECE leads the playbased programming which follow the policies and procedures for the licenced program.

Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Grade 12 Graduation
- PostSecondary Education as an Early Childhood Educator (twoyear Early Childhood Education Diploma)
- Minimum of two years of experience as an Early Childhood Educator in addition to experience acquired in obtaining CertificatetoPractice
- Experience must include working in a licensed early years program and may include before/after school care program.
- Have and maintain BC Early Childhood Educator Certificate to Practice through the ECE Registry
- Registration with Early Childhood Educators of British Columbia (ECEBC)
- Experience creating organizing planning and implementing for an early learning program
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team including district and school staff parents and children.
- Strong problemsolving and organizational skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills
- Some knowledge of standard office equipment including computers for instructional use
- Ability to physically be able to perform all aspects of the position
OR an equivalent combination of training and experience
Desirable Qualifications and Experience :
- Membership with ECEBC
- Diploma/Degree in ECE
- Able to work with Pedagogical Narration as described in the British Columbia Early Learning Framework
