About the BCLDB:

The BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) is one of two branches of government that provide oversight for the beverage alcohol and nonmedical cannabis industries in the province. The LDB is responsible for the wholesale distribution of liquor and cannabis and operates the retail brands BCLIQUOR and BC Cannabis Stores.

About this role:

The Disability Case Management Advisor is a professional who handles a high volume of complex situations with tact diplomacy and sensitivity. Working in a unionized environment the Disability Case Management Advisor must interpret and apply Collective Agreement language. The Disability Case Management Advisor uses a combination of empathy strong analytical skills and a keen attention to detail to make decisions and recommendations.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Health and Rehabilitation the Disability Case Management Advisor works closely with LDB stakeholders to administer all aspects of disability claims. This includes gathering the necessary documentation to support absences return to work and accommodations. The advisor is responsible for the coordination of a variety of services flowing from the ShortTerm Illness and Injury Plan (STIIP) long term disability and WorkSafeBC programs that are available to LDB employees.

Special requirements and working conditions include the ability to travel occasionally and possibly overnight within the Province of British Columbia. The successful candidate may be required to work from either the Burnaby or Delta location. A successful completion of a criminal record check is required.

Position requirements:

Education and Experience:

Degree diploma or certificate in disability management or related field and a minimum of two (2) years of recent related progressive experience* in disability management or claims management.

OR

Secondary (high) school diploma or equivalent certificate and four (4) years of recent related progressive experience* in disability management or claims management.

*Recent related progressive experience must have occurred within the last six (6) years and must include the following:
