PartTime Academic Instructor (BIOL 297 Selected Topic: Human Genetics)
The Department of Biology invites applications for a parttime Academic Instructor to teach one lecture section (3 credits) of BIOL 297 (Selected Topic: Human Genetics) during the winter term of theacademic year. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.
This course is intended to serve nonmajors in BSc programs such as Human Nutrition Human Kinetics and Psychology and students in the BASc Health program who are seeking a biology elective course or who are completing biology minors.
We seek candidates familiar with DNA structure and function including mutation and repair; genetic variation and evolution in populations; gene expression and regulation and genomics and genetic analysis all in relation to humans. Qualified applicants will have an advanced degree in Biology and previous teaching experience. Preference will be given to individuals who have strong teaching and communication skills. The Department is also seeking candidates who are committed to contributing to the universitys priorities of equity diversity and inclusion.
