Job Description
Parttime 0.8 FTE (30 hrs) 3year fixedterm opportunity as a Research Fellow
Dynamic opportunity to conduct clinical and labbased research at the Sydney Dental Hospital
Base Salary $122830 $127433 (prorata) 17% superannuation
About the opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated Research Fellow to contribute to the Universitys reputation as a national leader in research excellence. Working independently or as part of a research team the Research Fellow will apply and refine their expertise in research methodologies design and delivery. Operating under broad direction they will provide subject matter expertise offer sound advice and resolve complex issues while driving highquality research outcomes aligned with strategic goals.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
Assist in animal and human research on bone healing and orthodontic tooth movement utilising external aids laser and LED technologies ensuring adherence to established protocols and scientific rigour including the preparation of ethics applications and protocol amendments
process and interpret data using appropriate methodologies statistical software and data visualisation techniques to draw meaningful conclusions and manage followups with participants or relevant stakeholders in both animal and human studies
contribute to the writing and preparation of research reports publications presentations and grant proposals to disseminate findings and secure funding and assist with basic budget handling related to the research project
collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary research team including principal investigators and academic staff to achieve project goals and ensure ethical compliance while also liaising and following up on departmental theses and publications related to the research area
maintains accurate and organised records of research activities data and findings ensuring compliance with ethical guidelines regulatory requirements proper documentation of protocol changes participant interactions and animal welfare standards.
About you
PhD in a relevant field desirable
demonstrated experience in conducting original research and contributing to scholarly activity within a relevant discipline
maintain a developing research profile supported by emerging collaborations with academic industry and professional stakeholders
proven ability to supervise and mentor students or junior colleagues fostering academic and professional growth
strong research planning and organisational skills with a focus on delivering highquality outcomes
excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences
proficiency in computer literacy and committed to providing highlevel service and support in academic environments.
