You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailAre you ready to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of dispute resolution in Australia AFCA is seeking a talented Legal Counsel to support our newly established Scams External Dispute Resolution (EDR) Program.
In this dynamic and highimpact role you will contribute to two critical workstreams:
You will provide strategic highquality legal advice to ensure compliance manage legal risk and build AFCAs capability in new and evolving sectors. Youll also work closely with external counsel and vendors to deliver expert legal support.
This is initially a 12month contract role with the unique opportunity to gain broad exposure and deep experience in a landmark reform initiative spanning financial services telecommunications and digital platforms.
Qualifications :
To be successful in this role you will need:
Legal Expertise: Strong understanding of product law and regulatory frameworks particularly relating to scams and reforms in financial services telecommunications and digital platforms.
Policy & Stakeholder Engagement: Proven ability to influence and engage with government and regulators on policy reform.
Analytical & DecisionMaking Skills: Skilled in analysing complex issues making sound decisions and balancing competing outcomes.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly and accessibly.
Judgment & Adaptability: Demonstrated maturity adaptability and the ability to exercise sound judgment under pressure.
Risk Management: Proactive in identifying and mitigating strategic risks.
Project & Time Management: Resultsdriven able to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines. Project management experience is a plus.
