The Code group at the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) monitor insurers compliance with five Industry Codes of Practice . By driving best practice its aim is to improve standards of service in the financial services industry ultimately helping to create a better experience for customers. The Code group is a separately operated and funded business unit of AFCA working with the independent Code Compliance Committees that monitor the Codes of Practice.
The role of Senior Code Compliance Analyst Life Insurance will report to the Senior Manager Life Insurance. Senior Code Compliance Analysts support the delivery of compliance monitoring activities to support the work of independent Code committees. This position plays a key role in delivering on the Committees purpose of driving best practice in the financial services sector and improving customer outcomes.
This is initially a 12month contract role.
Typically in this role you will:
- In conjunction with the relevant manager and team members work with a level of independence under broad direction to identify lead and deliver projects in line with agreed strategic and business plan initiatives and the project management framework.
- Manage and conduct compliance monitoring activities including investigations thematic enquiries research desktop audits data collection and analysis.
- Manage and conduct complex monitoring activities which may include enquires and research desktop audits data collections and analysis and writing preparing and summarising briefing papers and reports as required by the relevant manager
- Participate and present as required at all external stakeholder meetings including meetings of the Code Compliance Committee
- Engage and collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities facilitate cooperation and achieve outcomes.
- Provide insightful advice on monitoring activities to the relevant Code Compliance Committee and other Senior Leaders.
- Undertake quality assurance and review of analyst work.
- Contribute to and lead innovation and business improvement strategies.
- Ensure appropriate knowledge sharing within the relevant team and mentor and coach other team members.
Qualifications :
To be successful in this role you will come equipped with:
- Knowledge of or ability to quickly develop knowledge of the financial services industry; and one of the following would be desirable:
- Regulatory and compliance experience; or
- Data analysis or investigation experience;
- Demonstrated knowledge of the legal and compliance requirements and frameworks within the financial services industry including industry selfregulation principles and industry codes of conduct
- Demonstrated experience supporting the delivery of key projects including business change initiatives
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders and fostering collaborative relationships.
- Demonstrated experience writing clear and concise reports and briefs for a wide audience.
- A motivated selfleader who takes the initiative to proactively identify opportunities for business improvement.
