REPORTS TO:Principal

Qualifications:

Education and Certification:

  • Bachelors degree or higher in Education or related field required.

  • Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate (Elementary Education Grades 18 or K8).

  • SEI (Structured English Immersion) endorsement or ability to obtain.

  • Fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of child development and best practices in instruction.

  • Ability to create inclusive and differentiated learning environments.

  • Skilled in classroom management and student engagement.

  • Familiarity with Arizona Academic Standards and state assessment requirements.

  • Effective written and oral communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.

  • Ability to build positive relationships with students families and colleagues.

Position Summary:

The 6th Grade Elementary Teacher is responsible for delivering highquality instruction aligned to Arizona State standards fostering a supportive and engaging classroom environment and helping students develop academic and social skills in preparation for junior high school. The teacher works collaboratively with colleagues parents and administrators to ensure student success. In addition to core academic responsibilities the teacher actively contributes to the school community through student supervision and participation in extracurricular activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in core subjects such as English Language Arts Mathematics Science and Social Studies aligned with Arizona Academic Standards.

  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and styles of all students including those with IEPs and ELLs.

  • Use formative and summative assessments to evaluate student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.

  • Maintain accurate and timely records of student attendance grades and academic progress.

  • Create a positive classroom culture that promotes respect responsibility and academic risktaking.

  • Implement districtapproved curriculum and instructional practices.

  • Integrate technology to enhance teaching and learning.

  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress behavior and classroom events.

  • Participate in professional development gradelevel meetings and schoolwide initiatives.

  • Collaborate with support staff interventionists and administrators to address individual student needs.

  • Adhere to district policies procedures and Arizona Department of Education regulations.

  • Supervise students in the classroom on campus and at school events as assigned.

  • Develops lesson plans and appropriate instructional aids and where appropriate laboratory learning methods.

  • Provides opportunities when needed for individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.

  • Design learning activities relevant to the real world.

  • Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly productive classroom environment.

  • Evaluates each students progress in accordance with the District Policies and Guidelines.

  • Communicates with parents or guardians the progress of each child.

  • Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve health attitude and learning problems.

  • Maintains professional competence through inservice education activities

  • Conducts such duties as described above in the area/subject/grade assigned under the supervision of the building administrator.

  • Maintains records on all students as required by the District.

  • Perform other related or unrelated tasks as assigned by thePrincipal.

  • Direct Instructional Assistants in work assignments as needed.

Working Conditions:

  • Classroom environment with occasional outdoor supervision.

  • May involve lifting materials up to 25 lbs. and standing for extended periods.

  • Requires flexibility to attend school functions beyond normal working hours.
