Job Description

The Tooling Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the tooling operations within the manufacturing plant. This role involves managing the tooling team ensuring the maintenance and optimization of manufacturing tools and collaborating with other departments to achieve production goals. The Tooling Supervisor will play a critical role in maintaining highquality standards and ensuring efficient production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Tooling Team: Lead multi shift cross functional team including training scheduling and performance evaluations. Training machinists and techs to ensure a next man up bench strength.
  • Tool Maintenance: Ensure regular maintenance and repair of tools to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency through hands on machining and training of team members.
  • Quality Control: Monitor tooling quality and implement improvements to meet production standards and customer specifications.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of tooling inventory and coordinate with procurement for necessary supplies.
  • Process Optimization: Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize tooling processes and improve overall plant efficiency.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all tooling operations comply with safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.
  • Troubleshooting: Address and resolve toolingrelated issues promptly to avoid tool delays.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present reports on tooling performance maintenance activities and improvement initiatives.

Qualifications :

  • Education: Technical degree preferred or 10 years in machine shop or tool room.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in tooling supervision within a manufacturing plant or similar environment.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills proficiency in tooling maintenance and repair knowledge of manufacturing processes and ability to work collaboratively with crossfunctional teams.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in tooling or manufacturing processes are a plus.


Additional Information :

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $63000 $94000. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range or be above or below the range based on factors including but not limited to education training experience professional achievement business need and location.  In addition to base salary employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance or a rolebased sales incentive plan.
