Job Description

OSR PreK Auxiliary Teacher Sheffield City Schools (Alabama)

Spur a digital staffing agency is seeking a dedicated and punctual PreK Auxiliary Teacher for Sheffield City Schools.

Position Overview

The OSR PreK Auxiliary Teacher will provide essential support in an early childhood education setting working alongside teachers and staff to create a nurturing structured and engaging learning environment. This role requires patience adaptability and strong communication skills to support young learners including those with special needs.

Candidates must be professional dependable and collaborative following all school policies PreK program guidelines and Spur expectations. Business casual attire is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group support for PreK students in daily classroom activities.
  • Assist with basic gradelevel classwork and structured learning activities.
  • Follow and implement individual medical plans as needed.
  • Support students with disabilities providing assistance and accommodations as necessary.
  • Utilize CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) techniques or be willing to complete CPI training and annual certification updates.
  • Exhibit physical ability to lift push or pull up to 65 lbs regularly.
  • Assist students with bathroom needs if required.
  • Escort students to and from various activities within the school.
  • Adapt to changing student behaviors and classroom needs.
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate with teachers staff parents and the community.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and maintain a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

  • Must complete a State of Alabama Background Check ($48.00).
  • Must have at least 48 credit hours from an accredited college/university.
  • Completion of MCS Training (provided at no cost by Spur Training Manager).
  • Required online training.
  • At least one year of experience working with young children preferably in a special education classroom daycare or an accredited early childhood training program.
  • Familiarity with IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) is preferred.

Compensation & Schedule

  • Pay: $16.32 per hour (based on experience).
  • Schedule: Monday Friday (when school is in session)
    • 7:15 AM 3:30 PM
    • (Hours may vary by location.)
