Seasonal Program Coordinators play a role on the Youth Exchange Programs Team in the acquisition and design of programs for high school or university age students and adult mentors while serving in an officebased administrative position. These exchanges are based in the United States select countries in the Middle East and North Africa or virtual and focus on civic education community service and youth leadership development. The Program Coordinator is a professional seasonal position that requires excellent interpersonal skills as well as design monitoring and evaluation and social media skills. This position will support programs within World Learnings Youth Exchange Units Iraq and Algeria programs portfolio.

Program Design and Management

• Work across the Youth Exchange portfolio by supporting administrative needs across numerous exchanges simultaneously.
• Assist in the preparation and dissemination of program materials as
• Support CANVAS management for programs from preprogram during program and postprogram activities.
• Serve on participant selection committees to support Admissions processes as
  • Develop program flyers.
  • Support management of program email inboxes as assigned.
• Provide program pertinent information to Operations Team for travel and logistics management.
• Manage the creation and implementation of monitoring and evaluation data collection and analysis using surveys and
  • Support Program Officers in the design and implementation of monthly project monitoring surveys and support.
• Attend and fully engage in the delivery of Staff Training including:
  • contributing to workshop design (prior to ST)
  • session facilitation and content delivery (during ST)
  • administration of Staff Training sweeping people lagging behind to attend sessions on time setting up classrooms supply runs as assigned.
• Facilitate workshops on program team retreats as needed or assigned.
• Lead development of social media strategy content development and scheduling to increase overall program visibility to funder and external audiences.
  • Support in the creation and maintenance of content for Interactives pages websites and blogs.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of all policies and procedures as laid out in the Youth Exchange Team Handbook and additional policy documents (updated annually).
• Review edit and create content for the Youth Exchange Team Handbook as
• Serve as oncall and risk management support yearround when assigned this includes occasional nighttime and weekend
• Support Program Officers in the administrative task of the minigrant application process. Including but not limited to: Application updates and management
• Program Coordinator will (or may) support on the ground program preparations or implementation during DC or New England segments.
• Program Coordinator will (or may) support the adaptation of inperson programming virtually (or to include virtual components) when inperson exchanges are not possible due to travel restrictions or health and safety This may include direct implementation virtually.
• Commitment to fostering diverse equitable and inclusive practices in program implementation and monitoring practices and challenging practices which may be exclusionary.

Grants Management

• Ensure that Department of State guidelines are followed and deliverables are
• Support the design and development of grant proposals in response to new funding opportunities as well as renewals and noncompetitive continuations (NCCs).
• Support the creation of reports for funders and program partners.
• Support the standardization and development of Youth Exchange

People Management and Supervision

• Work collaboratively on a team including Director Senior Program Officer Program Officer Senior Program Coordinator Operations and Admissions staff Global Staff Interns and
• Hire and manage team Interns.
• Monitor participant followon project implementation in collaboration with incountry staff where applicable.
• Handle other tasks as

• Contribute to organizations business development targets through ongoing program implementation funder relationship building and through other means as directed; and

Requirements

• Bachelors degree with two years of related work experience or masters degree plus one year of related work
• Understanding of experiential education and youth empowerment pedagogies with demonstrated examples of incorporating these pedagogies in professional
• Experience with international programs event management or youth
• Experience with virtual programming and digital communication and monitoring and evaluation of
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language with understanding of social media as a professional tool to enhance
• Computer proficient e. comfortable with Microsoft Office suite (Word Excel PowerPoint et al) cloudbased document management and online project management tools.
