Summary of Position
The Social Work Program Coordinator supports the Social Work department which involves collaborating with the Department Chair Program Directors and other department members on program management program planning development projects and achieving the departments goals. This position also serves as the primary interface/liaison between Masters of Social Work (MSW) students and the University to ensure successful progress through the MSW program and to minimize student attrition. The Program Coordinator uses department policies as a guide for judgments in decision making and consults with the Department Chair and Program Directors as warranted. In their work this position establishes positive effective relationships and works collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders (staff faculty students and community members).
Primary Responsibilities
Masters of Social Work Program Coordination 80%
- Support MSW students by problem solving issues and providing information and consultation to students to ensure their successful progress through the MSW program and to minimize attrition.
- Produce written communications and official program documents for the MSW program.
- Plan and coordinate events such as guest speakers faculty led lectures or special program initiatives.
- Manage MSW enrollment and program data: Enter manage and utilize department and student data in the student information system/degree audit software/campus CRMs; track registration information and assist the MSW Program Director with enrollment and field management; collect and analyze student data and produce both regular and ad hoc reports on enrollment totals profiles and projections to analyze enrollment trends and evaluate progress toward program goals.
- Coordinate MSW student course registration: Plan produce and distribute course registration materials and monitor the registration progress to ensure proper course sequencing and equitable section sizes.
- Maintain regular communication with graduate students about registration deadlines etc. and with alumni for the purpose of outreach and engagement.
- Coordinate and process graduation applications and coordinate with the Events and Registrar teams on activities related to commencement ceremonies.
- Collaborate with Admissions and the MSW Program Director on intake admission/matriculation efforts for newly admitted graduate students including attending information sessions fairs and events and reviewing external communication.
- Communicate with students faculty and staff regarding admissions procedures and requirements.
- Coordinate matriculation of new MSW students including establishing positive relationships providing ongoing information/consultation to new students and providing mentorship/guidance about completion of admission conditions.
- Plan coordinate and conduct New Student Orientation in collaboration with MSW Program Director MSW Field Director department and University staff.
- Serve as an academic advisor to MSW graduate students.
- Provide ongoing review of MSW student academic progress and changes in enrollment status to allow timely intervention and record updates.
Social Work Department Administrative Support 20%
- Collaborate with the Program Directors and Department Chair to plan develop and implement department wide policies practices processes and procedures.
- Collaborate with the Marketing department to issue programspecific press releases and press memos and serve as the departments website content manager.
- Create implement and analyze quantitative and qualitative assessments evaluations and research studies for the department and the Council on Social Work Education.
- Plan and manage department events.
- Respond to and direct all communication from administrators faculty students and visitors.
- Assist the Department Chair in managing the budget by analyzing department budget trends resolving discrepancies and making recommendations.
Additional Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Department Chair Program Directors and other faculty and staff to communicate departmentrelated information and updates.
- Schedule meetings develop and distribute agendas record minutes facilitate correspondence and complete related project duties for committee meetings.
- Monitor prepare verify and sign clinical clock hours and other necessary forms for the Minnesota Board of Social Work and other social work licensing boards.
- Assist other administrative staff in the department with administrative duties.
- All other duties as apparent or assigned by supervisor(s).
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Typical work environment is an office. Sedentary work for long periods of time.
- Regular computer and phone use.
- Evening and weekend work when MSW classes are oncampus.
Qualifications :
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree.
- At least three (3) years of relevant professional administrative experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters degree.
- Experience working with student records and correspondence.
- Experience working in Education Communication Marketing or a related field

- The compensation range is $21.00 $24.00 per hour DOQ.
