The Chaplain Manager oversees spiritual care services within a senior living community as part of the Wellness Department. This role provides compassionate support through religious services pastoral counseling crisis response and guidance during life transitions. The position also supervises chaplaincy staff or volunteers and collaborates with other departments to promote holistic wellbeing. The ideal candidate demonstrates empathy resilience and a commitment to serving older adults with dignity. This role reports directly to the Director of Wellbeing.
- Collaborate with the WellBeing Director to plan develop and execute Spiritual wellbeing programs and services aligned with the communitys mission and resident needs.
- Assist the WellBeing Director in the management of daily operations within the department including budget oversight resource allocation and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Act as a liaison between the Spiritual Life and Care Department and other community departments to ensure cohesive and integrated services for residents.
- Supervises all Spiritual Life and care department Staff contractors and volunteers as assigned.
- Participate in OnCall rotation for worship hospital visits and afterhours emergencies.
- Contacts nextofkin or Power of Attorney upon death of resident and plans/officiates memorial services if requested.
- Leads Bible Studies other spiritually based programs and visits residents.
- Participates as a member of the assigned facilitys interdisciplinary team
- Reports on all accidents/incidents to the Director of Wellbeing.
- Support mentor and guide the Chaplaincy team encouraging professional development and a high standard of performance.
- Maintain accurate records of service attendance visitation feedback and outcomes providing regular reports to the Wellbeing Director.
- Assist in preparing departmental reports and statistics contributing to assessments and strategic planning for the department
Qualifications :
Qualifications:
- Demonstrates empathy emotional resilience and a strong commitment to supporting senior adults with dignity and respect.
- Strong communication crisis intervention and leadership skills; experience with older adults is a plus.
- Ability to lead services provide spiritual and emotional support and supervise staff or volunteers.
- Knowledge of spiritual care best practices and ability to work collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated cultural sensitivity ethical integrity and flexibility to respond to emergencies
Experience:
- Minimum of four (4) years of pastoral experience as ordained clergy.
- Ministry in ecumenical settings.
- Experience in Chaplaincy services with senior adults or in the senior living industry is preferred
Education:
- Master of Divinity (.) or equivalent
- Minimum of four (4) units of CPE at least 2 at Level 2 (Advanced)
- Degree or certification as a counselor.
