Job Description

Link Solutions is seeking a Network Administrator (SeniorLevel) to join our team at Aberdeen Proving Ground MD.

  • Must be a US Citizen 
  • Must have an active DoD Security Clearance.
  • Nonremote (relocation incentive available)

Our Network Administrator (SeniorLevel) will be responsible for supporting the Army Research Laboratory in Aberdeen Proving Ground MD. This position will require a deep understanding of enterprise network architecture Layer 2/3 switching routing protocols and network security standards. You will be responsible for the installation configuration maintenance performance and security of the network infrastructure in accordance with DoD and ARL IT policies.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage network performance and proactively maintain security protocols.
  • Configure install and maintain Layer 2/3 switches routers wireless access points firewalls encryption devices and telecommunication systems.
  • Troubleshoot complex network issues across a variety of devices and configurations.
  • Implement and enforce information security procedures in compliance with organizational policies.
  • Configure routing protocols including OSPF and BGP and manage both IPv4/IPv6 based networks.
  • Set up and manage IPSec tunnels 802.1x and 802.11 LAN/MAN environments.
  • Define and enforce network policies procedures and performance standards.
  • Train users in network operations and best practices.

Qualifications :

  • Must be a US Citizen. 
  • Must have an active DoD Security Clearance.
  • Must have a BA/BS Degree in computer science information technology or logistics.
  • Ten (10) years of relevant experience working in IT enterprise network engineering.
  • IAT Level II Certification equivalent or higher per DoD 8570/DoD 8140 (CompTIA Security CE CCNA Security GICSP GSEC SSCP etc.).
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certified.
  • Proven leadership in managing complex network environments including DoD networks.
  • Advanced knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF BGP) security standards (802.1X 802.11 MAC bridging) and media access control systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in network segmentation traffic management and secure network architecture design.
  • Indepth knowledge of network tools monitoring platforms and documentation best practices.
  • Ability to plan and implement largescale network configurations and upgrades while minimizing downtime.

Preferred:

  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) v4 certification
  • Experience with incident management within the ServiceNow Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) platform.
  • Familiarity with NIST STIG RMF and Federal Information Systems Controls.
  • Working knowledge of hardware configuration management tools and logistics tracking systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience creating and modifying documentation for technical processes and procedures.
  • Experience working in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment.
  • A problem solver and troubleshooter who thrives in resolving complex problems.
  • Strong selfstarter requiring minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
