Hitachi Energy is seeking a Global Supplier Quality and Development Engineer (SQE) for their transformer business unit. The SQE role is to support the business growth and development of the global supply chain and ensure quality and sustainability compliance of very critical raw materials.

The SQE will be reporting to the Global Supply Quality and Development manager and work in close collaboration with Global Category Manager for Oils Chemicals and Insulation raw materials.

Your responsibilities

  • Category Quality Roadmap: In line with global category roadmap develop and execute comprehensive supplier quality agenda to ensure sustainable quality in the category

  • Supplier Qualification: Evaluate the quality management system of the suppliers and align on corrective actions with the suppliers and followup the resolution

  • Supplier Assessment (Onsite Audits): Plan and conduct the required supplier onsite audits corrective action plan alignment with the suppliers. Verify the effective closure of corrective action plan items by the supplier side

  • Parts Qualification: Lead the production part approval process (PPAP) for the new supplier parts/materials including the coordination of trial parts and first article inspection activities with the factory quality

  • Supplier NonConformity Resolution: Lead the nonconformity resolution process with the suppliers in case of the escalated technical issues from the factories and ensure the effective rootcause analysis and the countermeasure implementation by the suppliers

  • Supplier Performance Monitoring: Monitor and consolidate the supplier delivery and quality KPIs the critical nonconformities escalated from the factories. Identify the top concern suppliers within the category

  • Supplier Performance Improvement: Lead the supplier performance improvement actions for the targeted suppliers to meet the customer and the Hitachi Energy factories expectations (following DMAIC and/or 8D methodology)

  • Supplier Quality Agreement: Lead Supply Quality Assurance Agreement coverage in alignment with the BU Category Manager

  • Interface with Other Functions and the suppliers: Closely collaborate with the Category teams to support the implementation of Category strategy. Function as liaison between SCM Technology Quality and Operations and the Suppliers to prioritize supplier development needs at global level

Your background

  • You have a bachelors and/or masters degree in one of the disciplines: Mechanical Chemical Engineering Process Engineering or similar

  • You have 8 years of production quality assurance or supplier development experience in an international production company

  • Experience with electrical insulation materials production or quality (e.g.: pressboards paper laminates) is a strong advantage

  • Proven record of managing global quality programs

  • You have strong organizational interpersonal and communication skills and ability to create a collaborative environment for accomplishing project objectives in international environment

  • You are responsible team player with structured proactive selfdriven and resultoriented work approach

  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems standards (e.g. ISO9001 ISO 14001 and ISO 45001)

  • You have solid experience with auditing in production processes

  • You have strong technical problemsolving skills and indepth understanding of quality control/assurance methods

  • You are willing to travel up to 50% of your time and are fluent in English both written and spoken

  • You are familiar with Quality and Continuous Improvement tools and processes (e.g. Kaizen DMAIC A3 8D 5Why Analysis)

  • You have experience with APQP/PPAP PFMEA Process Control Plan Statistical Process Control and inspection test plan creation
