Senior Financial Controller Record to Report
The Role:
Join the British Council as a Financial Controller and take charge of overseeing financial accounting activities. In this pivotal role you will work closely with our Managed Service Provider to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. Leading a specialist team across multiple locations you will manage complex statutory and tax reporting banking responsibilities and liaise with local authorities. Your expertise will contribute to audit processes cashflow reporting and continuous improvement initiatives. As a key stakeholder you will challenge senior leaders to uphold financial integrity while ensuring compliance with corporate policies. Accountabilities:
Lead with impact as a Financial Controller at the British Council where you will provide strategic leadership and people management championing financial accounting and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Working closely with the Managed Service Provider you will ensure accurate and timely financial reporting while overseeing retained financial processes statutory and tax compliance and audit procedures. Your expertise will drive global financial compliance embedding a culture of accountability and implementing key performance indicators for controls and compliance. Building strong relationships with stakeholders you will provide expert guidance on professional accounting standards and technical issues ensuring adherence to external reporting requirements. As part of service improvement you will lead the implementation of new accounting and reporting standards support transformation initiatives and drive the evolution of financial procedures and systems.
