Position: SMT Equipment Maintenance Engineer
Job Summary:
The SMT Equipment Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the upkeep troubleshooting and continuous improvement of SMT production equipment to ensure optimal performance minimal downtime and high product quality. This role involves performing preventive maintenance corrective repairs equipment upgrades and collaborating with production and engineering teams to support manufacturing goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on SMT machines such as pickandplace machines reflow ovens screen printers SPI AOI and conveyors.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions electrical/mechanical faults and software/hardware issues in a timely manner.
- Ensure SMT line equipment calibration and alignment are within specified tolerances.
- Work with equipment vendors and suppliers for advanced troubleshooting upgrades or warranty repairs.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities downtime incidents and spare parts usage.
- Monitor machine performance metrics and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and reliability.
- Participate in new equipment installation line setup and process validation.
- Ensure compliance with ESD safety and quality standards within the maintenance process.
- Train operators and junior technicians on basic maintenance and safe handling of SMT equipment.
- Support Engineering and R&D teams with equipmentrelated needs and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
Education: Diploma or Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Electronics Mechatronics or related field.
Experience: 3 6 years of experience in SMT equipment maintenance or manufacturing engineering.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of SMT production processes and equipment.
- Proficient in reading schematics mechanical drawings and service manuals.
- Excellent problemsolving and diagnostic skills.
- Familiarity with PLCs sensors servo motors and machine control systems.
- Basic knowledge of IPC standards and ESD practices.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Strong understanding of SMT production processes and equipment. Proficient in reading schematics, mechanical drawings, and service manuals. Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills. Familiarity with PLCs, sensors, servo motors, and machine control systems. Basic knowledge of IPC standards and ESD practices. Good communication and teamwork abilities.
