As a Director of Software Engineeringat JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Banks Athena Risk team you will be leading a team of senior engineers to deliver on strategic priorities for the Lines of Businesses. You will collaborate with Product Owners to drive multiple complex projects and initiatives while serving as a primary decision maker for your team and be a driver of innovation and solution delivery.
Job responsibilities
- Lead a team of engineers focusing on building and enhancing our risk platform.
- Manage team performance including coaching for career growth and fostering a healthy team environment.
- Make decisions that influence teams resources and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures.
- Lead technology and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectives.
- Engage in handson coding as part of regular workload ensuring technical excellence and innovation.
- Influence peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business product and technology teams
- Champion the firms culture of diversity equity inclusion and respect
Required qualifications capabilities and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10 years applied experience. In addition 5 years of experience leading technologists to manage anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
- Expert experience leading technologists to manage anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise.
- Experience with hiring developing and recognizing talent
- Experience developing or leading crossfunctional teams of technologists.
- Deep knowledge of crossasset/crossbusiness Risk platforms
- Python coding experience and still keen to be handson
- Solid understanding of distributed frameworks
- Practical cloud native experience
- Knowledge of Kubernetes
- Experience working at code level
- Experience leading a product in a role of a Technical Lead
Preferred qualifications capabilities and skills
- Expertise in Computer Science Computer Engineering Mathematics or a related technical field
- Experience with SDLC in a continuous delivery framework
- Specialized knowledge of risk in particular asset class eg Rates Credit Equities
