Role Purpose:
At Jumio the Software Development Engineer IV Web will serve as a technical leader and subject matter expert for frontend engineering. This role demands deep expertise in (primary) and (secondary) a strong understanding of scalable web architectures and the ability to drive bestinclass user experiences. Youll lead the design and implementation of complex highimpact features across Jumios Identity Verification platform ensuring performance maintainability and excellence in engineering execution.

Key Responsibilities:
FrontEnd Development:
Lead the architecture and development of scalable highperformance web applications using and .
Translate complex UI/UX designs into clean maintainable code with a strong emphasis on performance and accessibility.
Build and evolve reusable component libraries and design systems to support rapid feature development.
Optimize applications for speed responsiveness and crossplatform/browser compatibility.
Ensure robust state management and seamless API integrations with backend systems.
Evaluate and integrate new tools and technologies that enhance developer productivity and frontend performance.
Technical Leadership:
Conduct thorough design and code reviews ensuring adherence to engineering best practices and coding standards.
Mentor junior and midlevel engineers fostering growth and technical excellence.
Partner with Product and Design to scope and prioritize features and define technical feasibility early in the planning phase.
Lead complex technical initiatives and crossteam collaborations across the engineering organization.
UI Testing & Quality:
Define and implement automated testing strategies using Playwright or similar tools.
Ensure comprehensive test coverage for new and existing features.
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and support testdriven development practices.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex UIrelated issues proactively and systematically.
Skills & Qualifications:
MustHave:
7 years of frontend development experience with expertlevel proficiency in and strong experience in .
Deep understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript HTML5 and CSS3.
Proven experience building scalable productiongrade frontend applications.
Strong background in automated UI testing preferably with Playwright.
Experience integrating frontend systems with RESTful APIs and WebSocketbased services.
Handson experience with Git CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins GitLab CI) and agile methodologies.
NicetoHave:
Experience with performance profiling lighthouse audits and optimization tools.
Familiarity with LLMs and AIassisted development tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot).
Exposure to Cucumber or BDD frameworks.
Knowledge of Material UI Ant Design or other component libraries.
Basic understanding of backend technologies (especially Java and Spring) to enable better collaboration with backend engineers.
Awareness of containerization tools like Docker and DevOps workflows.
