We are looking for a Specialty Doctor to join our Gateshead Service. You will work under the Clinical Lead for the service and have responsibility to work with a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic care for people who use our services.
The successful candidates will be expected to provide a constant stimulus for improving clinical services and be a role model. They will have a recoveryfocusedapproach to treatment.
Location: Gateshead
Part Time Hours: 15 per week
Full Time Salary Range: 90317..49 (dependent on experience and pro rata for parttime)
*Fulltime hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For parttime roles salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.
Responsibilities
Your Role & Responsibilities
As a Specialty Doctor you will play a key role in delivering evidencebased interventions ensuring that individuals receive the highest standard of medical care.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Clinical Assessments: Conduct comprehensive psychiatric and physical health assessments.
- Medical Documentation: Maintain accurate and uptodate medical records and correspondence.
- Collaborative Working: Liaise with GPs adult mental health services social services and prison healthcare.
- Specialist Prescribing: Initiate and oversee prescribing regimes in line with national guidelines.
Phlebotomy & BBV Support: Conduct tests as needed and support vaccination programs. - Safe Titration: Work alongside the nursing team to ensure safe induction onto treatment.
- Multidisciplinary Team Meetings: Contribute to care planning risk management and integrated care pathways.
About You
We are looking for a doctor who is passionate about delivering highquality care and committed to improving outcomes for people with substance use disorders. The ideal candidate will have:
- Medical Degree with completion of Basic Medical Training and Full GMC Registration with License to Practice.
- Experience in delivering evidencebased treatments for substance misuse.
- Strong knowledge of addiction psychiatry harm reduction and relevant legislation.
- Excellent clinical communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work autonomously and remain calm under pressure.
- A collaborative approach working with a diverse range of partners and stakeholders.
