The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Team Leader to join our Strengthening Family Connection Team. The Strengthening Family Connection Team are responsible for working alongside families who require support to strengthen and rebuild family connections. The team focuses on helping children and families reconnect and rebuild key relationships in their lives facilitating meaningful and lasting change through direct work and reunification.

In this role you will; will work closely with the Manager to develop and lead a team of Reconnect Family Support Workers in their daily tasks and ensuring highquality interventions with families at the risk of family breakdown.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading weekly planning and review meetings with the team.
• Providing direct line management to Reconnect Family Support Workers including monthly supervisions and annual appraisals
• Allocating new families to the team and ensuring tailored support is provided.
• Attending reviews and working alongside families to ensure the effectiveness of interventions.
• Leading and supporting the team in a calm dynamic and effective manner especially under pressure
• Working alongside multiagency partners in the planning and delivery of the teams work

This position is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Valid driving licence and own transport or be able to provide alternative suitable method of travel is an essential condition for this role.

Work Style

At North Somerset Council we offer a hybrid working environment based on four distinct work styles. Depending on the role and personal circumstances you will fall into one of these categories. However please note that during the induction period it may be necessary to spend more time in the office to support your learning and development. We are flexible and open to discussions about your preferred working style and if you wish to be in the office more frequently this can be negotiated.

This role falls into the category of Flexible Worker which means you can expect to work in the following way:

• 23 days in the office
• Works both from home and the office depending on the task at hand.
• Training is provided to help balance worklife and manage time effectively with an emphasis on communication for team touchpoints and planning inoffice days for collaboration.

About You

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about making a difference to families lives by leading a team to support the reunification work and reconnect and strengthen the key relationships in a childs life for successful long term outcomes We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Team Leader to join our Edge of care team and who possesses the following skills and experience:

Essential Criteria:

• Be qualified at Level Four or above in the relevant field
• Have proven experience working with children and families with a range of needs.
• Have strong organisational and communication skills.
• Have a solid understanding of traumainformed restorative and strengthsbased approaches.
• Have experience in supervising and managing a team with a focus on developing staff and improving service delivery
• Work in a way which is considerate to anti discriminatory practise

Desirable Criteria:

• Have good interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships
• Have excellent time management skills
