A key part of this is improving service users access to services and eliminating unnecessary duplication including through the implementation of common platforms processes and standards.
This role is in the Digital Services Division in Digital Directorate. It will lead of the design of services in the Division that will be consumed by wider Scottish public sector. The purpose of Digital Services Division is to create sustainable and valuable digital services composed from reusable components.
As Lead Service Designer you will be responsible for the creation of a Service Patterns toolkit that will articulate what common services should look like how they are composed and how to successfully build and monitor their performance. You will be working with organisations to understand their service needs and translating this into usable services and reusable service will also be required to work in a multidisciplinary team as well as with public sector organisations and suppliers to understand and create simple solutions for a complex landscape.

This role is aligned to the Service Designer (Lead Service Design role level) within the usercentred design job family.

Working Pattern
Our standard hours are 35 hours per week we offer a truly flexible working including fulltime parttime flexitime and compressed hours meaning you could work your full hours while working less than 5 days per week.

DDaT Pay Supplement
This post is part of the Scottish Government Digital Data and Technology (DDAT) profession as a member of the profession you will join the professional development system. This post currently attracts a 5000.00 annual DDAT pay supplement applicable after a 3month competency qualifying period. The payment will be backdated to your start date in the role. Pay supplements are reviewed regularly and there is one currently underway. Changes will be communicated when the review is concluded. .
