We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Research and Development team as a Summer Intern focusing on Ship Structures. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain handson experience in cuttingedge research and development projects related to the design analysis and optimization of ship structures. Under the guidance of experienced professionals the intern will contribute to ongoing projects aimed at enhancing the performance durability and safety of marine vessels.

The Role
- Assist in conducting literature reviews and gathering relevant research materials on ship structures materials and construction techniques.
- Collaborate with engineers and researchers to analyze and evaluate existing ship structures identifying areas for improvement and innovation.
- Participate in the design and development of novel structural concepts for marine vessels considering factors such as weight reduction costeffectiveness and environmental sustainability.
- Support experimental testing and validation activities including sample preparation data collection and analysis of test results.
- Utilize computeraided design (CAD) and finite element analysis (FEA) software to model and simulate ship structures assessing their performance under various loading conditions.
- Contribute to technical reports presentations and documentation summarizing research findings methodologies and recommendations.
- Stay updated on emerging trends technologies and best practices in shipbuilding structural engineering and maritime industries.
What you bring
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters degree program in Naval Architecture or a related field.
- Strong academic background with coursework or research experience in structural mechanics materials science and/or finite element analysis.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks CATIA) and FEA tools (e.g. ANSYS Abaqus) and Python is desirable.
- Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to think critically and creatively.
- Effective communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to collaborate in a team environment.
- Demonstrated initiative selfmotivation and a passion for innovation in engineering and technology.
- Prior experience or coursework related to marine structures or shipbuilding is a plus but not required.
Duration: This internship is a fulltime position and will last for the duration of the summer with a flexible start and end date based on the candidates availability and academic schedule.
