Job Title: (DoD SkillBridge) Electronic Cable Assembler

L3Harris DoD SkillBridge is connecting transitioning service members to career training opportunities within our organization. We will provide service members with valuable civilian work experience through industry specific training certifications and on the job experience during their DoD SkillBridge internship to help them ready themselves for their next mission.

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR DOD SKILLBRIDGE JOB OPPORTUNITES YOU MUST BE AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF THE U.S. MILITARY WITH 180 DAYS OF SERVICE OR FEWER REMAINING PRIOR TO YOUR DATE OF SEPARATION AND HAVE AT LEAST 180 CONTINUOUS DAYS OF ACTIVE SERVICE.

Job Description:

The assembler will perform standardized or prescribed technical assignments involving a sequence of related operations on submarine molded cable assemblies and components.

Essential Functions:

  • Follows standard work methods on recurring assignments but receives explicit instructions on unfamiliar assignments; technical adequacy of routine work is reviewed on completion; non routine work may also be reviewed in process.
  • Following specific instructions assembles or constructs simple or standard equipment or parts; may service or repair simple instruments or equipment.
  • Conducts a variety of tests using established methods.
  • Prepares test specimens adjusts and operates equipment and records test data pointing out deviations resulting from equipment malfunction or observational errors.
  • Extracts engineering data from various prescribed but non standardized sources; processes the data following welldefined methods including elementary algebra and geometry; presents the data in prescribed form.
  • Other duties may be assigned to include overtime work to complete production required

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma and 4 years prior related experience.
  • Must be able to read and interpret cable assembly drawings.
  • Must be able to read and execute hydrostatic pressure tank procedures.
  • Must be L3Harris qualified to operate forklifts.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds by themselves.
  • Must be able to traverse ladders.
