Mechanical Design Engineer

For specific allocated projects in coordination with the MEP Team Lead (Cairo) manage plan and carry out;

Complex mechanical engineering (including HVAC fans pumps plumbing) analysis design and drawings specifications and bills of quantities using appropriate analysis and design and drawing software to the required quality project timeline and design budget

Obtain all data and follow up with project managers MEP Team Lead (Cairo) other company staff other consultants and contractors so that analysis design and production of drawings specifications and bills of quantities are completed in an accurate timely manner to the required quality

Establish and build professional relationships with other staff other Consultants contractors.

Understand the project brief

Assist MEP Team Lead (Cairo) other Engineering Designers with the preparation and implementation of the Project mechanical engineering designs in coordination with the assigned project team

Participate in and contribute to value engineering exercises

Reports to MEP Team Lead (Cairo) Base Office/Country ECEC Cairo Egypt

Coordinate with internal disciplines and teams within ECEC and with 3rd parties in relation to technical financial safety quality schedule and other elements of a project so that accurate mechanical designs and mechanical engineering drawings specifications and bills of quantities are produced.

Specifically the Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for:

1. Implementing and updating specific and overall project mechanical engineering designs drawings specifications and bills of quantities for multiple complex design projects and construction projects.

2. Assists the MEP Team Lead (Cairo) on matters that cross between interfacing elements projects.

3. Work proactively constructively and fairly with all parties to ensure the successful execution of duties

4. Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as directed and as may be appropriate.

Requirements

Minimum 5 to 10 years (depending on the seniority of the role) of related work experience in a relevant engineering background and previous experience in design drafting using Revit and AutoCAD

design experience on large complex building projects is required.

Bachelors Degree in mechanical engineering

Registration with the competent Engineering Authority (licensed to practice mechanical engineering design in Egypt)

Specific training & qualifications in mechanical engineering analysis and design including use of specific software for HVAC plumbing etc.

Good level of competence in use of Revit AutoCAD and other drafting software

Excellent working knowledge of internationallyaccepted mechanical engineering design industry principles and practices / safety / quality systems.

Excellent knowledge of current mechanical engineering technology.

Able to work with minimal supervision.

Excellent problem solving numeracy and English literacy skills.

Clear verbal and written communication skills.

Uses diplomacy and tact in discussions with other parties.

Contributes to team building and enhancing morale across the team / project.
